I don't honestly think the English VAs in most Japanese produced games are too terrible. Me, personally, I prefer to hear the characters speak in my native language. Now, maybe if I grew up in a country where English wasn't the de-facto official language, I wouldn't mind Japanese VAs while I read the whatever language subtitles.
