But still.... This could happen (TN wouldn't waste their time on it though)

I would buy a Vita in a heartbeat. I need this game to be portable already! Besides, the DOA5+ owners deserve the update.

Oh wow I graduated to Well-Known Member. That's nice but I'm not sure if I deserve it...

Actually, if they make a Vita version of DOA5U, I will probably sell my PS3 (and all my games) to buy a cheap Vita.

Lately, I'm more into handhelds consoles for some reasons. Probably because you can play DOAD and Animal Crossing while pooping.
Anyway, can't wait for Smash Bros. on 3DS.

Changing the topic.... why doesn't Zack have a dark backstory? It could have developed his character well..

Here's one:

Zack was born and raised in (Insert "Place where da gangstaz be at" here) and had a life filled with hatred and bloodshed. His parents where killed by gangsters hired by a mysterious man that Zack never personally knew. (Donovan) In his later years, he got involved in the drug dealing business because of his uncle who he was sent to got him into it. In his room, Zack used to listen to all kinds of music, Classical, Rap, RnB, you name it. But the people in his uncle's home used to laugh and tease him for it. It nearly even got him killed. After he was battered, assaulted and left in the roads of (Insert "Place where da gangstaz be at" here), he swore never to be beaten by a bunch of classless street thugs, and that one day he would beat them all again. So Zack left his uncle's home and went to live in a University campus and travelled to a lot of Muay Thai tournaments just to spectate and see what was up. He was amazed at this fighting style and he ended up teaching himself it. But that was just a back-up plan. Zack really wanted to become a DJ. This is what drove him to mix various dance moves into his fighting style.

Sometime during his prime time of millions of record sales and popularity, some men came into Zack's home and tried to assassinate him, but he fended them off with his Self-Taught Muay Thai skills. When he fought them off, he saw a DOA tournament advertisment on the billboards coincidentally outside of his house.
"Well I could fight these geezers off, so I guess I've got in the bag!" Zack said.
But he was actually thinking:
"Can I actually win, though?"
For most of Zack's life, on the outside, he was a very zany and crazy guy, but that was just a facade for his extremely low self-esteem brought onto him by his bizarre past. He now tries to put all of that past him and uses girls as a distraction, (Hence DOAX Games) not to think about his past.

Anyways.... Handheld Gaming...
I love it.

Bring 5U to 3DS too. I'll even play it with downgraded graphics. I don't mind if hair length have to be sacrificed as long as they are wearing the costumes (+ hair and glasses options) they got from 5U/5UA and plays like 5U/5UA.

I'd like to see how Rig, Mila, Marie Rose, NG and VF imports looks like with old DOA character models. Then all DLCs will be free and have 2-3 rerun cycles again. Yay! Gives me more reason to go to malls everyday just to get connected. So hobo.

This is true on so many levels lol. I even reached 2 hours long in the bathroom simply because I was playing Pokemon Y while taking a dump.

DOA6 should introduce proper flashback for EVERY characters.

Story Mode should go like this :

Prologue with flashbacks of their lives > Some fights and random scenes like in DOA2-DOA4 > CGI Ending

As long as it is not a compiled story mode anymore and that we can choose the costumes before starting a character's story, I can live with it. Sipping martinis with Helena in her Greek Goddess dress and Bayman infiltrating MIST in fighter pack shorts ftw!

Just wondering have anyone of you replayed DOA5 story mode? Like does it have replay value? DOA2-4 kept me interested because I could play a character's story mode and see all the cool cut scenes (like Helena/Gen Fu DOA2, ugh my favorite) and ending movies. But yeah, I haven't replayed DOA5 story, felt like more of a tutorial to me anyway.

Meh...if you really want to watch it they have plenty of youtube videos with every cutscene start to finish. I personally wouldn't replay story mode just b/c it's 15 minutes of cutscenes for every 1 fight basically (and each character usually only fights 3). And you're right it's original purpose was to be a tutorial. DOA2-4 was set up in an arcade format which I think was better and hopefully 6 will be like that as well.

So, random thought.

I'm stuck on the idea that Mila is the daughter of Leon and Lauren. I find it fits together too well. (Mila blames Leon for Lauren's death, hence idolizing Bass instead of her father, a "Substitute" male figure to look up to, so to speak.)

On that note, does anyone else have any other plausible theories about the characters or their relations? Not goofy stuff, but actual, plausible ideas?

TK needed more screen time.

It's the girl walking by in the corner of the frame, just totally not even caring about the breakdancer, that makes it so great.

Not bad.
Here is my take:
Ever since he was a child, Zack has had always had it rough. His mother worked 1 job and his father 2. So everyday to cope with the depression Zack would listen to music and make people laugh to help him combat his anger because little did his parents know he was bullied a lot in school. He was ashamed because he got picked on because he could never afford the clothing, food, etc others had, and this drove his passion to make little money doing what he loved doing... making music.

But one day, the day before graduated from middle school, his uncle was killed by Donovan in a drive by shooting when he helped prepare a barbecue for his nephew's graduation. Little known fact was that his uncle was rich and was a secret gang member. He worked for Donovan as an stockbroker and he knew the secrets to Donovan's plans that he was going to take over the world one step at a time. It was his Uncle's word that he would not betray Donovan. That kept secret was broken because Donovan was a fraud. He had Zack's uncle wire over money to scam over major corporations. Donovan would then hire mercenaries to threaten or kill the companies CEO. Most CEO's wouldn't want to sue because of Donovan's power. Zack's uncle Billy (thats his uncle's name) eventually ratted out Donovan, and that's when the shit hit the fan.

When Zack found out his Uncle's death he was at a lost for words. He would have never thought that an Uncle that he once looked up to as an older brother, could be killed. Following this news, Zack spun outta control. He egged ladies houses, stole from stores and people, and even almost lighting someone's house on fire until his father stopped him. Zack's wild side eventually made it into his music. He would host illegal parties at abandoned buildings and even got influenced by gangs to do so. He even changed his clothing style to fit into the club life. Eventually people and gangs started to hear about Zack. He got so notorious for his good music, it traveled into his personal life. Gangs started to mark their territories and ruin his image and Zack wasn't about to let it go down. He one day got into a fight with someone at a new party spot. He fought the man because the man was beating on a defenseless victim. He beat him in a fist fight very badly. This led the gang affliated man to vow he would get someone to kill Zack's family. At first he didn't think nothing of it, thinking the man was just full of it. Until one particular night, his parents were fatally killed! Tragedy struck Zack, and he vowed that he would never let another man take something close from him even if it costed him his life. A year of living with his wise Grandpa and multiple therapy sessions his grandpa put him in, he started to teach himself how to fight by watching Muay Thai fights. This led Zack to enter underground tournaments and win money to prove himself. Zack shocked even himself when he won a fight against a muscle headed chump who thought no one could beat him. Figuring out that it was more money than what he won and that there was more money to be earned, he entered the first Dead or Alive tournament to prove himself to the world..

I liked 5's story when it wasn't being 'serious.' It had a lot of silly moments that actually made me chuckle. Jann Lee tossing the nunchucks to Kokoro and her going 'lolwut,' Tina beating Zack and the screen going up to her face, stuff like that. I've been slowly giffing all the moments I liked.

I don't think a Kasumi and Momiji relation would be boring. It'd be nice to see Kasumi open up some more, and Momiji seems like the type of character that would be able to get her to. If you've played NG you'd know Momiji is well loved in her village, she seems like she genuinely cares for people. Kasumi hasn't really had many people attempt to converse with her. The only people that have seem to want her dead. She needs a friend, and I feel Momiji would be that girl. They seem to have similar morals, so I can see them connecting kind of like how Lei-Fang and Hitomi did in DOA5.

It would be interesting but I doubt a Kasumi+Momiji would even exist since Kasumi rarely interacts w/ the other ninjas to begin with unless they're fighting with/against her.

And don't forget everyone there's still a Tengu contest thread going on. Emperor Cow will pick the top 3 but the rules are you have to tweet or FB post them. Even if you don't want to be in the contest like me still show your support and post pics anyway. XD You have until the next patch to create one.

I like DOA because the story tries to be serious, but doesn't take itself seriously. No fighting game should, IMO. That's why there's always some supernatural force or the comedic relief character. DOA5's story wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either.
