Part 12 of the 12 part tutorial series for DOA5.
Featuring commentary by myself "Emperor Cow".

This video is meant to explain the ins and outs of Tag Mode and highlight the main differences that set it apart from Solo mode. It also explains some features that are unique to tag mode such as Tag Canceling.

That video actually taught me something! xD
I never knew backstep techs avoided OTG attacks. Probably because I use Alpha-152 and she only has 1 tech. You probably should have mentioned in the video that the directional techs and wakeup kicks don't apply to her.

You're right, I should have mentioned that.
It completely escaped me.

Mmmm. This also taught me something. I never tech to the sides or back. Backwards tech gets me out of so many situations that I was getting locked into. Love this tutorial!
 
Why am I only seeing this stuff now? Seriously, this needs to be stickied in the forums section or something. Would have made things a lot easier for me the past week I've been trying to learn this game.

Not every non-launching move stuns on back hit, but most of them do. Strike properties on critical stun hit are identical to hi counter hit properties (are there any exceptions?).
 
OK well I feel so stupid. I always wondered why I was getting countered out of my critical burst... I now know why. I was not waiting until the letters CRITICAL STUN turned red.
 
I'm glad you guys like it .. hopefully the next video will go more indepth into how stuns vary and how to deal with them :)
 
After watch part 2 for a second time I had this doubt: does launchers connected on (regular) critical stun result in same height of those connected on critical burst (stun)? Does somebody know please?

there are 3 launch heights...

Normal hit launch
Critical stun (or counter) hit launch
and critical threshold launch (which also includes burst as you are considered in threshold)

BTW, also about tutorial 2, I was wondering why critical burst does not activate on back turned opponent. I think is should happen on BT opps too and should be included in DOA5U... What do you think about?

I disagree.. lol..

if it worked on bt it would be far too strong for some characters that reach threshold on bt opponents since they cannot hold at all ...Leifang would be broken, and kokoro not far behind..


the current system is just fine..

u need to remember that CB also means guaranteed powerblow ..
you dont want to work your ass off to wear someones life down .. just to lose over 70 % of your health from one stupid setup which you can do nothing about ..

(in the example I showed for leifang .. if the opponent does mid kick and it actually worked .. that would mean that they cannot hold throughout the whole punish.. and damage is even higher on High counter strike .. now imagine that WITH a powerblow ..She does have a setup that works on fast stagger escape from it which i think is way too good and another which turns the opponent around before the last hit to burst them .. which is great for mixup ..but i find those scenarios to be far more fair as the opponent is not entirely helpless.)
