Considering Tekken 8 is revolving around Jin as the protag there's no way Miguel isn't in Tekken 8, hat and he's been a staple main roster character for like 13+ years now they're not gonna miss him now.

Honestly the only Tekken 7 newbies I want are Leroy, Kunimitsu II and Lidia everyone else can go. Claudio is most likely gonna be in Tekken 8 due to his ties with Kazuya and potentially Jun(?)

I saw the rumor about Jun and Claudio being connected and I don't see it tbh. Claudio has shown that he's willing to do whatever to get closer to getting Jin and I don't think Jun would mesh well with that since that's endangering her son, if they are affiliated I could see him maybe having some ulterior motive that she's not privy to and that'll lead to him betraying her but idk

I can see them bringing back pretty much everyone from Tekken 7 tbh, the only characters I'm not sure will return are anyone who didn't make it in T7 to begin with. Katarina and Gigas I'm nervous for too and I feel they'll have a cut off after about 10-12 more character reveals since they'll want to reserve some for DLC, and I'm sure a spot is already gonna be occupied for a guest but who knows xD

I think Miguel's possible with Shaheen (More-so Miguel). Story-wise, they both kinda serve as adversaries to Jin & Kazuya so there's a possibility. Lidia's very likely cause part of Kazuya's bio mentioned the Union of Nations discussing sanctions against G Corp which probably included Lidia so I think she's making it, though idk about Fahkumram. I felt that they kinda put Fahk for Bruce players since Josie wasn't working (uncertain on her, possibly shelved), but Idk. He might get curved for the return of Bruce but we'll see. It looked like Jack-8 had some of Gigas' moves so I doubt he's returning. Claudio's very likely. Possibly using Ling rather than Jun to get to Jin. It makes more sense, story-wise. Kuni II's likely as well. Her gameplay kinda meshes with T8 + I can see them fleshing her out more to coincide with Yoshi. Kat might get curved though. The only T7 new character that I really can't tell would be Lucky Chloe tbh.

Lidia is too cool not to have in this game. Would be a tragedy if she doesn't get in. One of the best newcomers in Tekken 7.

My Guess is Leroy, Kunimitsu II and Lidia are to Tekken 7 what Honoka and Raidou were to DOA5LR basically character designed for the next game but the next game was too far away so they became updates/dlc for the current game.

It makes zero sense to come up with brand new characters with backstories and personal goals only for them to be a no story dlc character that gets dumped in the next game. Especially as some have said Kuni II and Lidia and Leroy were way popular, now will they be base roster like Leroy was? maybe not but I hope so.

Yeah lili is basically confirmed xD Lili basically ruined Asuka's life and then bought her family's home Dojo, so it seems like that story chapter where Lili basically bought her Dojo and moved in is canon xD And the fact that Asuka's father was delighted at Lili's gesture definitely means that like it or not, Asuka really has no say so in the matter

I honestly hope Lili hasn't actually moved in but I can imagine that Lili buying and upgrading the Dojo means that Asuka and her family likely got a financial come up so that probably explains her somewhat better quality school uniform

This is just like I said then? Lili and Asuka are potentially roommates/friends now and she got a bigger budget for clothes (most likely picked out by Lili or Sebastien).

Also, this confirms Tekken 7s canon fight ending was Asuka winning again since that plot point of Lili moving in and buying the dojo only happens in Asuka's version of the fight.
Just watched the ending again and Lili mentions learning Kazama style so get ready for Lili doing tooth fairies in Tekken 8 lmao

I guess you didn't get the inside joke...in the Tekken community nobody considers Kuni a Tekken character haha :D
Because of her playstyle? I think every character in Tekken belongs in Tekken. It’s so weird to say “x isn’t a Tekken character” cause clearly Harada thought she’d fit that’s why she’s in.

I hope that's not the case since I don't think Lili using Asuka's style would look good on her since Lili is known for her style being very frilly and graceful, Asuka has some grace but her style is definitely more brute compared to Lili. I also can see them being friends, or at least one sided since Asuka seems to dislike Lili but who knows, maybe they're now closer rivals like Sakura and Karin were

Since Lili is now likely staying with Asuka(idk why tho, I personally would rather her T5 playroom bedroom be my dwelling) they'll probably give her a bit of a Japanese vibe in her design, maybe something similar to Anna's western style cheongasm she had in T5. I hope they also switch up her hairstyle too, I still want her hime but maybe they can add some regal parts to it like maybe curling the sidelocks or making the sidelocks longer. Anything that isn't just her standard hair will be fine but Asuka and Xiaoyu have their general same looks so they'll likely just keep the same one for lili

If your main is Kunimitsu, everyone knows you don't play Tekken.

Kazuya is the only true Tekken character anyway.

Yeah most likely Lili will still look like Lili, the only female character to have a drastic design change so far is Nina. Jun still looks like Jun, Xiaoyu has looked the same for 20+ years now and Asuka is very much Asuka

The way they're throwing these trailers out makes me wonder when the game is actually dropping and how much is actually finished?

I predict early-mid 2024 if the pace is consistent. It'd be 30 years for Tekken (unless you don't count the arcade release.). But at the same time, I can see either as early as late 2023 or as late as some 2025 or 2026 timeline.

All I can say is this: Julia (or praying that Michelle will come back out of "retirement") better be on the main roster. I don't want to pay DLC for a Chang again.
