Since the designer from Bayonetta worked on soul calibur last time I'd like it if she worked on outfits for Tekken 7.

Oh cool well I like Josie's primary costume so that's good. It seems much more down to earth than she'd usually design.

Anyone notice that it's actually inspired from Snow white? The red headband is the giveaway, and the skirt is too, but the sleeves are made long and the skirt is short so that it doesn't resemble her dress entirely. Mari has a great sense of inspiration!

Now I understand why Argentus likes her, she's very nicely designed! I think the sandals, hairbow, and the four charms on her waist are the best parts, they look so exquisite☆

Oh I didn't know Argentus liked her, I can understand why though. And yeah I do think they are also the best parts of her outfit. The accessories are just as big a part of the clothes I'd say and the designer from Bayonetta clearly knows that, she always adds these minor things that aren't necessary but just add something unique and special to the outfit.

Beyond the color scheme, that outfit (and by extension the character herself) wasn't particularly well received locally when she was first announced where I live (I personally don't like her name, but that's just me).

I'm mostly neutral to her but do hope she gets this outfit:

Yeah I'd heard there was a lot of controversy to do with Josie Rizal about her not doing justice to who she's based on etc. I can't really comment on that though since I don't know enough about the problems people have with her. Personally from a completely individual perspective I like how she looks.

The main problem we locals have with her is that she's not stereotypical enough, actually. The fact that she speaks english is one issue then there's the complaint that her default costume doesn't really look like something native here but as I said, so long as she gets a Jollibee costume, I doubt it's going to be that big a deal when the game does release locally.

Her speaking English makes since to me, don't a lot of people in the Philippines speak English anyway? They probably couldn't hire a traditional Filipino speaker, so they went with English since that's another language utilized.

Considering the fact that it's become standard for Tekken characters to speak their local language, it just stands out that they made her an exception. And I highly doubt it would have been hard for them to find a Filipina actress to do her voice but overall, it's not big deal if she at least has an accent. As you said most Filipinos (myself included) are very fluent in English so we largely don't mind (most of the controversy surrounding her isn't really that much, mostly from ignorant politicians).

Several things, she doesn't look Asian in the slightest, her name for starters doesn't imply she's Asian or Filipina I legit thought she was brazillian or from somewhere in South America, she's darker skinned than all the other Asian characters(I realise Asians can have darker skin, but they usually don't in games) and her face is fairly western looking.

This is exactly why she got some controversy when she was revealed here. The fact that you mistook her for a south american shows how her design doesn't really say she's Filipina besides her costume's color scheme (red, blue white and yellow are used in the Philippine flag). As for her name, she's named after national hero Jose Rizal and some locals were complaining that naming her after him is disrespectful (my issue with the name is that it's not commonly used here).
