Team NINJA Social Media Updates for DOA6

I wonder if this might just be the end of the series...
It should be. They did enough damage.

Please let 6 stay DEAD forever and just wait some years until a capable team gets their hands on DOA and are able to make a comeback with a mindblowing DOA7, cause I'm not even gonna bother trying ANYTHING from this franchise that has 6 attached to the title.
If Team Ninja's publisher is still KT then there's no hope.

So.........there's going to be another shitty DLC? I'm not surprised LMAO!

This is it? They're gonna go out like this? They should just surprise us by giving almost everything we wanted like a few classic stages from older DOA games, improving performance and Legacy costumes (why the fuck is Hitomi's denim outfit?). This would've been a great way to end DOA6 dlc support but naaaah KT will not tolerate it LOL.

The good news is no more cheesy low-quality hot garbage dlc! :D
They're gonna likely make another iteration so hopefully they'll just include all the revival content right from the get go like they should have done so we can get actual new stuff xD

What's also funny is for a game that was essentially a casino dress up game, even adding a new customize feature, the costume DLC was unbelievably trash. With the exception of Kasumi's NG fit, I don't think a single new DLC outfit was better than what was in the base game. Stupid cause the costume design was one of the few positives with DOA6 initially, a lot of characters got cool defaults: Ayane, Christie, Lisa, Hayabusa, Hayate, Leifang, Eliot, Tina and Kokoro for example looked great.

I don't want another iteration of DoA anything if it's going to be just as trash. Not many are playing the game, and not many like the game. If it's going to come back then it needs a serious overhaul otherwise I don't want it and honestly no one else needs to buy into it either. Stop supporting trash and settling for less. They've barely fixed any of the stages, we've had 0 male dlc characters, we have lacking male costumes, hair colours cost real money, we've be getting rehashed costumes, stages suck (most of them), stages are busted (most of them), we have awful new mechanics no one asked for, and the story mode is at it's all time worst (this is completely subjective, but it sucked ass to me).

TN/KT literally sucked all the money they could from DoA6. People got tired and started complaining about their business practice. Instead of acknowledging the problem with attempts to fix it they just decided to end support. That is one helluva slap to the face with a leather glove on.

When DoA6 was first announced i never thought it would turn out so bad or lose support so soon.

When I saw the fist pictures of DOA6, I remember that I told to myself : "really? DOA6 ? It looks like exactly like DOA5... with poor, bright, annoying small stages... and mechanics look booooring."
Well, it has not changed a lot.

The awfulness of what KT pulled here only becomes fully clear if you put what happened in the last months into perspective:
For many months they knew they were on a downward spiral. The game didn't sell well and thus DLC didn't sell well either, so their DLC got first more and more lazy, by outright reselling DOA5 DLC or by just putting a handful of costume contest submission in the game when they always made costumes for all characters before. After that the lazy DLC got more and more pricey for no reason, they even put a license tax on crossover costumes and characters that belong to KT, and to top it all off they implemented the haircolor scam. They planned to abandon the rapidly sinking ship shorty after that all along, but before that they were going to rob the last men on the sinking ship blind.
I usually mince my words, but the KT execs that planned all this are greedy pieces of shit. There, I said it and I hope maybe one of them reads it. :)

Too bad & I was hoping for an update tonight. It was fun playing and I was finally getting decent. I hope the lobbies don't die out. What are the chances they give us one or 2 surprise characters with the update? :p They said this could be an April Fool joke, but it would be in poor taste, but I also wouldn't put it past them. Well, we all saw how it suffered with the concentration on Nioh 2.Mid April, would it be around the 14th? Tom Petty has nothing on us with this game. Could one of the games mentioned above finally be Ninja Gaiden? One can only dream.

Zero chances. We'd all know about it by then.

They'd probably be like

"Thank you for your understanding".

Lol

I'm still holding out hope for an April Fool's.

They couldn't announce it on April 1, so it would have to be March to go along with the joke.

What happened to the 'mystery' character we were getting? I'm pretty sure it turned out to be Tamaki.

& if it were a joke then we would really know they couldn't care less about the complaints/comments.

The fact that lobbies weren't available on launch day and the comments about them having to cut story content were red flags in hindsight. Did they run out of money before release?

And I don't know if April Fool's is a thing in Japan.

Imagine if it was an actual April Fools joke though lol. It still harms their integrity.

"DOA6 DLC will cease support".

With DOA5 I was worried I played too much... with DOA6 I dulled it out in increments and then it could be fun for a while before once again becoming kinda boring. I witnessed really dedicated players like @Onryoki begin to hate it, and he played a lot. I had spurts of fun thanks to the deciding factor on that... I really despise the close hit damage and I can't really look past that after a year now.

Not to mention Dead or Alive 6 World Championship was an absolute failure. How about those famous online tournaments. Like what in the actual fuck. They actually hired people to make a rule book for those. I seriously think that KT is awful at money management they take odd risks & then they waste money.

Like the Main Event. Who in the actual fuck produced that garbage. I didn't get to see Crazy vs BladeZ but I got hours of other things. By the end of it I felt bad for players and felt like they were kinda screwed over on that end. Even if they did score trips to Japan the whole point of a tournament is to showcase your fucking gameplay.

KT is like treading the Sega waters now of why they fuck are you doing this. I would compare the main event to the Sonic 25th Anniversary on their production end.

I really liked playing DOA6 with friends because I enjoyed spending time with them, but then I realised that I needed to play with friends in order for me to actually enjoy the game. I think the discontinuing of the support for DOA6 was the best thing they could do. So many players have been vocal about how displeased they are with the game and have been leaving the tournament scene, like Rikuto for example.

DOA6 started with a lot of controversy and they started to dig 6’s grave. We can all blame Koei Tecmo for everything, but Team Ninja player a part in it as well. Shimbori shouldn’t have said things like we’re not adding a VV character to the game only to add one after a year of saying they wouldn’t in an interview. He also was the one coming up with the mechanics of 6, and changed the gameplay for DOA completely. Totally leaving behind what made DOA5 so pleasant to play. If he used the mechanics of 5 and made them even more complex or made changes but not too significant changes 6 would’ve been great. Nioh 2 is a great example of that, they took what was successful and made it even better. 6 just had too many shortcomings at release for players to actually get hyped for the game, the fact that they also immediately started off with $90 seasonpasses while not even having lobbies available didn’t help.

Anyway, DOA could’ve been better but unfortunately the series fell into the wrong hands. This is the best thing that could happen at this point. No content or feature could help this game anymore.
Maybe they were expecting their dedicated fans to be like :

But no, most of them are just disgusted at this point. Gross.

...

Is it too simple to say KT killed our favourite franchise ?

Anyway... enough with the predictions, suggestions, community. I will stay on FSD because I just love its atmosphere.
But it's less painful to move on and discover new things I believe! Damn... what a weird way to end this epic journey...
It is weird yeah, it feels almost as leaving a toxic relationship of some sort. Kinda wanting to stay and hoping to fix things, but also realising that it’s a toxic environment and that it’s time to go, to move on and start on a new journey. It actually starts to hit me now how much DOA means to me and that it really is the end now. Oh well, I’m staying on the forum because some people on here I like and enjoy to interact with. Not everybody though.

Meanwhile on Gamefaqs, on why DOA isn't dead thanks to XVV: "And DOAXVV's if anything massively popular (and probably a LOT closer to Itagaki's spirit for the franchise than the others)."
There you have it, Itagaki's vision for a self-insert gacha game has already been fulfilled. We ALREADY have the ideal DOA game, so there was never any need for 6.
