Okay so the censor filter is funny for 2 seconds only.

Another thing I have noticed is that Lisa was buffed in DOA Central. Woohoo! Yeah!

Also, do you have a complete list of the new intro/win poses since the launch? I know Bass had a new one in the last update. And Tina and Mila in this one. Where can I find such a list ?

They couldn't even be bothered to give characters BOTH "new" intro and victory poses ? It HAD to be one or the other?

What the hell are they even prioritizing work on? Why are they making such little effort to actually add stuff in? Its not like they even made new animations; its all just recycled from last game...

I haven't been able to check myself, but someone on the Rikuto discord says that they didn't redub the English lines for the 'new' copy-pasted intro and outros. So they have the old VA lines.

This series is going down the same path as Dynasty Warriors, the game is rushed and hollow. I've been staring at the exact same intro and win pose for two months now with my main. I assumed they were going to add poses to all the characters who only have one but instead they are drip feeding it to us.

It's bad timing honestly. With MK11 having so much content in the base game, including tons of unique interactions for the whole cast, it just shows what TN could do with the game if TK invested real resources into development. Instead, TK is busy removing content from the games it publishes, just so they can recolor it and sell back to us a year or so later.

I swear to god if this is true... there truly is nothing that can save this game jfc

I've just accepted that DOA6 is focused on being that competitive game, which is fine. Whether it's good at that or not isn't up to me since while I do play the game as seriously as I can, I'm not tournament ready like some here. Like I'll cap at around B+ and hit up lobbies lol even with "legacy skill" and understanding mechanics I just don't have dedication to be crazy good at fighters. But at the end of the day it's a fighting game so it's hard to harp on them wanting to shift focus, besides we still have the standard single player modes which is appreciated.

On a casual level this game struggles. Almost loses DOA's magic imo, and it plays heavy into why I can't click with it. 6 just feels so.. soulless? Most of the costumes are recolors (the guys got screwed hard, Jann Lee had so much style before what happened), simple customization options like mask removal are gone, the grittier, bland stages, lazy DLC, story that felt like 5LR DLC, no tag, stripped down online, even exclusions of characters like Gen Fu are enough for it to feel off. Just look at the title screen.. the menu bg doesn't even animate like the others. I bought 5 at launch and it didn't quite feel this bland to me like it did for some here. 6 is genuinely the first DOA I stopped playing after like a few weeks because it feels like I'm playing an extended demo. They can't even add intro animations from THEIR OLD GAME. I do expect the game to change for the better over time since that's how gaming is now but it just sucks how boring I find it after being so optimistic for it.

DOA6 is for sure a DOA game and all the things that truly matter are there, but the little things really make a difference to me is all. Doesn't help that everyone still jokes on it. The game had so much potential to be THAT doa but alas it's even more embarrassing than ever.

pointless rant over why am I awake rn

That's not true as that's based on those who only played Ranked Mode atleast once. That doesn't account at all for those who never touched Ranked to begin with.

Let me put this into better perspective:
They are ONLY using the Leaderboards as a basis and just the leaderboards, nothing else.
In truth, the leaderboards only add you if you played Ranked Match atleast once, otherwise you never get recorded at all.
Someone in the FSD Discord actually pointed out that the PSN actually shows that 42% of people who booted up DOA6 played Ranked atleast ONCE. This means less than half played Ranked Match in DOA6 at all meaning the actual number of DOA6 players is slightly over double that number, meaning atleast 154K. And for Steam, only 27% of people actually played Ranked, meaning the number is equally just as massive.
And that's not counting whether or not it counts multiple people within the same Rank or not if they have the same point number.

Meaning that the guy is literally blowing hot air and people are falling for it... again. This is also primarily how SFV's online ranking system worked and people pointed out through the numbers ONLY how little people actually played online as a basis for how few ever actually play online in a fighting game. Thus it's completely disingenuous to use that as a basis for DOA6.

Final EDIT: This would most likely include the number of CF downloads as well as Shimbori wouldn't just throw that number out there if it's a complete lie, he's still the face of DOA6 and Japanese really, really value their reputation over anything else.

Wow! Never knew about this tourney mode LOL!
For all these complaints, I still want the full game. Just been busy with work and haven't picked it up yet. Hoping they could introduce some new characters with new fighting styles in addition to returning the favourites.

I see, I didn't look at how leaderboards works so this makes me feel better.

If these numbers were true that would just be ... depressing.

You can actually look at the PSN Trophy list and see how many got the trophy for their first Ranked Match right now.
It's literally at 42.5% and like I said before, you should be able to see something similar for Steam and Xbox Live.
Meaning that yes, the numbers are not THAT depressing and people can't even do actual fact checking before running their mouths.

It's not even that damn hard to do.

It definitely does not track everyone who booted the game since I'm not Ranked on PS4 (doesn't even submit my Arcade Ranking without PS+ it seems… how rude)
I guess it tracks everyone who ever queued (and not necessarily played a Match) though. Seems the boards also work at least somewhat different on PC and consoles. PC has 2 people with max score and they are Placed 1st and 2nd, PS4 has 12 people with max score and they are all ranked first (and the next one is placed #13).
Can only see the Top 100 on PS4 though, so don't know how it handles 0 point players there.

For comparison, the lowest placement for 5LR on PS4 is 168980 (and I'm not ranked on there either… nor did I try to figure out how many 0 point players there are)
