Community Team NINJA Halloween Costume Contest

@Argentus what is the design actually meant to be? Is it a costume or just clothing? You might have mentioned it and I missed it, but it doesn't appear like anything obvious (like a pirate or zombie)

I'm also personally not a fan of the underboob. I think TN have ruined a few classic costumes by adding/updating them with underboob. (I'm looking at you Ayane) :p
Its basically an update to my last submission, but as a school delinquent kinda outfit. Bancho/bantyo.

Agreed on underboob but I know it will garner more votes lol.

Any constructive criticism? I would really appreciate it. c:

I've hardly any critique for you. :) I think, your artwork and design is really good. Of course there is always room for improvement, but I think you will naturally get there yourself over time. The only thing coming to my mind, would be: How about trying out colored lineart? I think, dark blue lines for her dress, would compliment the light blue coloration better than the black lines. Also the lines of her face would look better in a brown shade with her light skin coloration. I like the Ice Princess Idea. In fact, I wanted to do some snow flake or ice crystal inspired ballerina dress at first too. Then I decided, to do a black, devilish ballerina. >:)

@Tyaren
Done extremely quickly on break, but first concept sketch

I think, it's such an awesome idea to dress Mila as a bancho. :D Even better: dressing her in a male bancho costume instead of a female one. I'm personally no big fan of the under boob as well, but I think, Team Ninja will like it. XD
The only thing I don't really get is the belt. It looks weird. How about a normal belt?

That is actually a really great idea! I just started searching semi-realistic coloring tutorials; I was just diddlying around with coloring until then, and I still feel like the coloring isn't complementary (I feel like I'm more of a sketcher than a coloring person).
I'll try to use that from now on. The last time I did, it was a first semi-realism tutorial, and I felt that I needed to work on eyes with coloring aspect. I should get back to that.

The devilish ballerina would be adorable! We should have switched ideas; you have the halo and I have the devil horns (because I am pretty much an asshole). xD

that's not a thong, its criss crossing dual belts!

Yeah but it looks like a thong. It also doesn't really fit the high school rowdy look. I still think that the Boxer Shorts Design would be a better match.

Your Leon Costume looks pretty badass. But it is kinda hard to describe it as a Halloween Costume. Mila at least looks like some kind of super hero

People tell me I keep posting images that either can't be zoomed in or is too small to see, so I'll try one last time with a different upload page:

Going for killer robot/cyborg (White is supposed to be shiny neon light).

Okay, I have to speak my mind now... :/
All the rigged voting discussions for weeks really annoy me and as the winner of the last contest, they kinda insult me as well. Can you imagine, how I feel, or the other winners, when it's oh so obvious to all of you, that the voting was completely unfair? Was it really? One obvious hack doesn't mean the whole thing was hacked. I want to believe, that I won fair and square, but you really ruined that for me. Team Ninja announcing a whole new contest, when the prizes of the last contest didn't even reach everybody and without any word of which costumes will make it to the game, saddens me too. Do they also think, the wrong designs won?
No contest is completely fair! Wherever you hold it, wherever voting is going on. There's always bias involved, popularity votes or some stupid, human mistakes occur.
Just wait how you feel (if you win), when after this contest everyone, who didn't win, will cry again, how rigged and unfair that voting was. Those sour losers are also something, that always occurs in every contest... :(
I'm really considering, if I will participate again...

Honestly, your entry caught my eyes when it reached deviantArt, and I knew straight from the heart you would win. And I loved that.
I have a feeling that the Rachel one will make it again, and maybe this time it will win, maybe it won't. I have a feeling it will. Hacked or not, some people repost their entries, instead of making new ones.
I first thought about inspiring by Kenny again for this one, but of course, my entry from the last contest had no one batting an eye because, well, not everyone watches South Park.
Even now, despite betting almost everyone in the community has seen Frozen, no one is still batting an eye at my entry.
What I am getting at is, I am happy you won, because the whole fact that you're not the same person who appears everywhere in the DOA community. It's usually the same people that win things from Team Ninja. Fair or not, it seemed fair to me to see someone different win for a change, rather than the same praised people over and over again.
Everyone is going to complain about the winners of a contest. They're selfish. I entered, gave my two cents for entries, pointed out the obvious copy-pasta, and went with my day, because honestly, it wasn't a big deal to me. I had fun with it. People need a point in their lives to move on from things like this. As I've been through my whole life, "Life is full of disappointments."

Deepest apologies, not my intent. Please enter again!

Also I know nothing I design will ever win lol. What with me being one of like, three people who remember that Mila is a tomboy and prefer her that way.

That and I would only design for her and Leon, and Leon is too niche to win.

I don't think it's a good idea to repost costumes, unless you just want the mouse pad or whatever.. (if TN didn't like it before they won't like it now)

As far as rigged voting yeah that will always happen as long as there's some script kiddie with free time. At least it's not limited to FB users now. There were so many awesome entries that weren't even close to the top 10, and I think it had a lot to do with how TN set it up (FB only, 9 characters only)

It's really sad to hear that you feel this way. :c

Tbh I ignore those sore losers, they're nothing but jealous fools. Everyone won fair and square the way I see it, including you. Your design was amazing, a lot of people loved it and that's how you got first place.

That's how everyone got the results they did, you can't help or change what the community likes.

However, I do feel that Facebook was a bad move and holding it on the site will be a lot easier. That way people can't vote more than once on the same costume with ease, and possibly this time they can find a way so that everyone truly can only vote 3 times max since that failed terribly last contest. But saying the whole contest was rigged? Haha ... no.

I don't think it's a good idea to repost costumes, unless you just want the mouse pad or whatever.. (if TN didn't like it before they won't like it now)

But it's not Team Ninja voting, it's the fans. And the competition might be different this time so people might have more of a chance.

However yeah, I honestly wouldn't repost either. Because by nature I'm a pessimist, so I think if you didn't win last time, there's a good chance you won't win this time either. Also I think the competition will be tougher this time cos it's not the first contest.

Though maybe some people were scared away by last contest, whether it be the competition or the voting system. Who knows. All I know is I'm entering again, last contest was fun. :D

I honestly think the designers should vote on our costumes. I think it'd feel better to receive recognition from the people who make the game and distribute it rather than the fanbase.
