Hey, I am really new to this community. I was on DOAWorld, not much chatter their and I heard about this site. I liked everyone bouncing their ideas off of each other. Here is my design, I want some feedback before I submit it. I have designed a day of the dead style skeleton optional makeup as well, but tell me if you think it is even needed. Like it, hate it, anything! :)

If Argentus is going for the bancho costume in the end, he should imho stay true to the look. That means no jeans or weird color schemes. Banchos are rebellious, gang leading high schoolers. So they are usually wearing Japanese school uniforms, that are sightly altered to their own tastes, showing off their rebellion against the extremely restricting school system and society in Japan, mostly in the 1960s. That's the time frame this special style originated.

The typical black or dark blue "gakuran" school uniforms. Note the pompadours XD :

That cap Argentus gave Mila, was usually also part of a boy's school uniform.

Note the back then typically very long skirts for girls:

Without the school uniform, it's not really a bancho costume anymore. I think, for a Halloween outfit one should be creative of course (and change it up a little), but also stay mostly true to the cliché. That's the one night everybody loves to fulfill a certain cliché. ;)

True. I may still try a white uniform, but likely stick to a black/Venom Blue as well. And thats why I hadn't done jeans yet though I insist on a crop top to bare the midriff.

Okay, so I tallied the votes on the two costumes I posted, and the Marie Rose costume is winning so far. I colored it, but all I had were some Crayons. I hope this looks better, or at least gives you a better idea of what I had in my head. I have a black and white version if this looks bad:

Updated my design with some small changes. I shaded in the face paint, so now it is not just blinding white. I added classic hair style to help those that can not comprehend the glory that is the afro. Added skull wearing a top hat earrings.


At this point I am not even going to look and the design for a few days and then try to come back with fresh eyes and see if anything else is needed.


So what do you guys think? Do you like it? Do you think there is anything that can be done to make it better?

@Christian Matsumoto, nice design and I'd really like an Alice Rose, but I fear, there might be several Alice Roses submitted to the contest. It somehow is something many think about first for her.
In the last contest a Japanese artist made costumes for Eliot as the White Rabbit and Marie Rose as Alice. Really cute design! (I unfortunately don't find it at the moment) The artist did only submit the Eliot costume...this time she might submit the Alice one. :/

@Naked on Mondays, cool and interesting design! Lisa's face is at the moment a little off putting though. She looks like an old, bitter woman. I think it's because of the droopy eyes, the thin, frowning mouth and the edgy shape of her chin. I know, the mask is supposed to look scary and creepy, but creepy, scary and pretty is possible too. I bet, more people would be voting for her. ;)

Its frustrating that out of all the unlockable and dlc outfits available now, Milas C2 is still her best outfit. (I main the one with the towel but with the towel turned off though).

.I kinda wanna petition tn to make a patch allowing us to turn off her headgear on her other costumes. I would start maining her sports dlc if I could turn off that stupid visor.

And it is still probably going to get more likes than yours just because people like naked skin and cleavage :(
and not because it is awesome idear

I'm kind of a fan of the bass costume, the school uniform and her costume with the tank top and sweatpants

I had some ideas for other characters that maybe TN would like..

- A DOA4 skin for Kasumi (her previous doll face). I think this one would be hard to create, but it could win as it would only be for the poster girl, and it could open door to another doll pack. Do you think it would be hard to create a new face ? Maybe just bigger eyes then.

- An astronaut costume for Zack
- A cake costume for Marie-Rose
- Bear mascot and panda mascot for Hitomi and Lei Fang
- This leopard lace suit for Lisa (with leopard mask)
- A Marie-Antoinette inspired dress for Helena (with a wig)
- An evil queen inspired dress for Christie (in black)
- A zombie inspired dress for Lisa
- A hamburger costume for Bass

And Bananakira should make a come-back in this competition.

Also throwing ideas out there because I'm not going to do them, so why not:

Goldilocks Marie Rose. Cute little teddy faces attached to the bows in her hair and at least one on her dress too. A cute Lolita dress in yellow and white would work best.

Rapunzel Helena. I reckon someone is probably working on this already but whatever. Make it happen people.

Yukionna Nyotengu. Make her wings white, and work with her traditional style hair or even design a more befitting hairstyle she doesn't have. Idk, I can see this working and looking great.

Yeah, idk. I felt like sharing.
