So I made a thread talking about the new names in the online scene. All people posted was complaints that offline was soo much better then online and how online doesn't matter. So what I'm asking is why doesn't online matter? If online really doesnt matter then why do we host tournaments ONLINE? Or if online doesn't matter how come XCaLiber BLadeZ who was only an online player and WON the NEC tournament on a different platform nonetheless? How about ElectrifiedMann who went to DID and came third in his first tourney. If these online player didnt have the "skill" of these players andonline didnt matter...wouldnt they have lost? Also you havr yo take in to cinsideration that my first topic was about the ONLINE community. I didnt ask nor do I care about what Dr Dogg and whoever have to complain about. I dont. I asked who do you see developing in the online community in DOA5.But you guys all have this mindset tha Online means nothing. Thats all Im saying is you guys need to look at thifs from different prospectives. I understand that laggy games suck. I do. However if its playable connection and by nowyou should. Tall know how the game works, then the match should matter. Feel free to leave unintelligent remarks below.

I read your original thread, and I saw nothing related to online players sucking or how the offline scene is superior. Only thing I saw was a few complaints about lagged connections and and various people nominating Max536Drago for something. Besides that the thread serves no constructive purpose and often, as mentioned before, simply doesn't end well and was taken off.

Depending on who you play the delay can make certain things safe that shouldn't be, and some people will falter under the slightest amount of lag especially if their game plan is mostly formed on reactions.

Some people are not hindered by this at all, if they generally have a way to auto pilot in a fight. I use this loosely but if it doesn't really matter if they mess up a action, because it's safe they can keep doing said action. Usually it will be a dominant move, and it's even better if it can lead into something hit comfirmable. Granted it doesn't always work but some characters who have to rely on delaying, heavy stun games, or countering another character would make them weaker.

Also when you play someone with a crappy connection it induces srs salt. However if you can constantly find good matches, it really will help with match ups, So when you play offline you'd probably have an even easier time dealing with characters that would be troublesome online.

Long story short, Online effects characters abilities, a low tier character can become nearly unbeatable, and a high execution character generally will fall short.

And as Brute said...people be elitist. If you know a match is laggy it's best to just stop playing them. Other wise it will hurt you in the long run most likely.

Man, I locked your other thread because it was turning into an online vs. offline thread. I told you why I locked it. And now you're going to get salty about it, take the reason I locked the original thread to prevent flaming, and make an entire thread about JUST that? Are you serious? No.
