On a serious note, I have not yet watched any other video based on Honoka yet. Judging from what I am hearing about, Honoka's offense is going to be hopelessly annoying to deal with, especially in walled stages. Her juggle combos are implied to be relatively... malleable.

I read she's pretty punishable, but I also noticed that from majority of her stances she doesn't actually have proper lows ( Apart from Heichu ) so... I don't think she's going to have much block string variety.... then again like somebody said earlier a LOT of her attacks force her into her stances so if you know the points in which that occurs you can just poke her out of them for a CH or CH throw her? in theory anyway.

I think it was me who said that :p. It was something I noticed in some combo challenge videos; people didn't have to do the directional or an additional input to get into the stance. Examples of forced transitions would be 6H+K into Dragon Stance, PPP into Dragon Stance, 3K into Dokuritsu-Ho, 8P into Heichu, or 66P+K into Heichu. She even has setups in which she is forced to go into Hissatsu-no-Kamae (HNK) after moves like Dragon Stance P or Heichu P+K. My guess is that you can just strike punish her out of her stance just like you can strike punish Marie Rose's Rondo with anything but a mid punch or high punch. If you have a quick reaction time, you might even be able to throw punish her.

On the bright side, not all moves force her to transition into certain stance. 4K (from Zack) doesn't force her to go into 'Ducking' for example, for which an additional '2' input is required. Another advantage is that you don't have to input something extra, in case it is really your intention to transition into the desired stance.

I noticed with her dragon stance P+K that she doesn't go into hissatsu unless it hits... at least that's what happened in DBs stream. Which makes me think hissatsu isn't forced unless the attack that leads into it lands? could be wrong though. Everyone who has the game doesn't seem too interested in Honoka sadly =[

Either way I'm guessing she can probably guard cancel out of the stances before she can get punished. 3K for example, when guard canceled puts her back into neutral, right? so I doubt you can throw punish her there... but it does limit her block string pressure.... what is 3K's frame on block when cancelled exactly? again... nobody seems too interested in her so I'm going to be pondering a lot of things till I can play her -_-

I have no idea to be honest. I'm guessing we just need to wait for the 20th unfortunately.

If you all want, I can make a only Honoka stream while after that, I'll make a only Raidou stream so that people can go into the characters and do any requests. Of course, if you all feel like waiting..the game is being released tomorrow ahaha.

Tomorrow for some people.... in like 3-4 days for me.... it comes out on the 20th Australian time ( which I think is 21 for you guys. )

Wow Honoka really screws with your muscle memory... I keep trying to go directly into Zack's duck and grab out of Brad's crane and I haven't even played those characters since DOA4.

Day 1 impressions though is that she has a ton of potential. My only major gripe is a lot of her cancels only work on hit.

Also hissatsu 2T = sex

Honoka: "Promise me... that you won't tell anyone... ABOUT HOW GOOD MY MIX UP GAME WILL BE. Now if you excuse me, it's getting hot in here."

... I am buying "a" next gen platform at some point during next month. Honoka (and Raidou) both pique my interests quite a bit.
Those stances are going contribute to her close range game quite a bit... that much I can already see coming.
