Online multiplayer is a complete disappointment

There is definite input lag in even the best of connections. I wonder what happened, DOA2U and DOA4 definitely had better netcode.

Well for the past 2 days connection hasn't been the greatest. To me, that is unacceptable for a new title like this. It got so bad in one match the game totally froze. Had to dashboard. It is no issue with my connection. I've been playing other games online without issues. It's annoying. I've also come to the conclusion that I hate the menus used online. They take forever to load and can be somewhat confusing. It's not fair for a good game to be tarnished with this online mess. Question, does anyone know if you can get rid of the big ugly chat box in lobby matches?

I have mainly played simple match. I think it's a great game mode. I have also played a little ranked. Is it me or are people in ranked worse than people in simple match?

Fuck Jann Lee online. You can't counter his retarded mid kicks or punish them, he's more obnoxious than DOA4 Busa right now.

Oh and Kokoro's face looks like a baby seal... jus sayin.

Here are my gripes:

1. Input drops while blocking correctly - I was playing this guy who was throwing high strings at me while I was backing away. After the first string attack hits my guard the second attack hits me for a stun even though I am still backing away as if the game has a glitch where it forgets that holding back is blocking. I've seen this before on DOA4.

2. Inability to block a string that has a low attack somewhere after the first attack - The game will refuse to register my input to guard the low kick on strings like Kasumi's :P::P::down::K: after guarding the the high attacks when I clearly entered the input to guard low. I ran into the same problem on DOA4 with a wired connection.

3. Holds registering late - Many times I will correctly anticipate an attack and hold with the right timing only to eat the attack and have my hold come out milliseconds after that. I've had this happen many times on DOA4 on a wired connection as well. Really fucks up my rhythm, not good for my La Mariposa play.

#2 and #3 I experience occasionally in match, but when #1 happens it happens the entire match. All of these situations occur when there is no noticable lag.

I noticed DOA5 has mainly full out button lag... no typical slow play lag like how it usually was in DOA2U and DOA4...so people spectating, it looks like the connection is perfect, but for those playing there is bad input delay.
Very Annoying! :(

I played on 360 most of yesterday. The connection is better compared to the PS3, but it's still unplayable if you're a competitive player. You still can't do anything on reaction.

I didn't get the sidestep glitch at all though, so that was nice. I got more hate mail though... even though I was playing random most of my matches.

I think I would take this over the slow motion lag like we had in DOA4 but it is still obnoxious. I keep playing against Jann Lee's who do nothing but mid kicks at range so I run up and input for a mid kick counter and nothing fucking happens. It getting kind of old, especially seeing as his stupid 66K is now safe for no fucking reason.

Yeah. Lately counters don't come out at all, or no blocking on reaction. Its ridiculous. Its at the point where I only play lobby matches either going random out of bordem, or using characters I don't even use.

The current input lag and the slow down lag are both unacceptable.

That said, sidestep Jann Lee's mid kicks. Don't bother holding. I almost never try to hold online. Even slow escaping online seems futile. I basically just put myself at frame advantage, then press buttons. No one online respects frame advantage, so they keep on attacking. Then they get mad when they lose.

The online is pretty disappointing right now and very frustrating to play it makes it really hard to play at a competitive level, aggravates me to no end

You're all a bunch of complainers, you should just adapt to the lag. You can still win if you try. Go into training mode turn input lag to 1 and get to practicing.
