Would Tokyo Game Show not be a good place to announce or at least tease (as with Honoka, Raidou Notengu...) the new character? It's about half a year till the new character comes out and usually TN announced new characters about half a year in advance...

Oh, I just had a horrible thought. D: They probably will announce the new character...in the footage of DOAX3, that will be shown on TGS. Which means it will again be...

Yes, they definitely stated that the character is not going to be part of DoAX3. More Hayashi in his answer mentioned how the interviewer, through the question if it would have been part of the DoAX roster, was very likely trying to get indirectly the confirmation if it was a male or female character. This leave the room for it not being a female character and that this could be the reason because TN is not going to consider its presence in DoAX (but again, this is just speculation and if she is a female maybe they could add her in a remake of DoAX later).

I really want the new character to be a guy but my expectations are another female with the standard copy-paste 5 fetish outfits because $$$. Look at how rare it is just to get male outfits as DLC.

I don't really think that we will see the new character reveal at TGS, there is too much time left before the actual release. At the most one month before it we could see an hint on the style of Honoka revealing the character still leaving it in the mistery and giving to the fans the actual date for the announcement.

For Team Ninja TGS seems to be dedicated to NiOh, at the most I believe that we could get a movie for DoAX3 if the pictures of Kasumi are not simple screenshots but come from a gameplay demonstration (in style AI vs AI as for the fighting games).

It could really go either way, actually. Let's have a look at the trend of TN when it comes to revealing new characters:

- Marie Rose: Announced release date months before she was released.
- Phase 4: Reveal trailer came out of the blue, about one or two months before she was released.
- Nyotengu: Same story as Phase 4, but Nyotengu was even more unexpected.
- Raidou: Reveal trailer months before he was released without an announcement of the trailer beforehand.
- Honoka: Reveal trailer a month before she was released with an announcement of the trailer beforehand.

As we can see, there is no consistency at all in a) the time gap between the reveal trailer and the release date and b) whether there has been a special announcement of the reveal trailer or not.

Regarding Genra, normally I'd say he shouldn't be included as he is technically dead, but that would be a pretty dumb argument, as he was playable in DOAD, and, 152 is also dead, yet playable in this game. I wouldn't mind seeing him return but I'd rather have his successor or something, a brand new character (preferably male) with his moveset, and maybe his sword, too.

What I'm really hoping for though, is a young male character, like Eliot, with a new unique fighting style. But, we'll probably end up getting yet another Japanese schoolgirl with massive boobs like Honoka.

I'd like to see more male characters as well and I believe there's a good chance that's going to happen. TN said that the upcoming character is created in a way never experimented with before, so I doubt it's a successor of Genra or a busty Japanese schoolgirl. Personally I would be perfectly fine with a young male, but not if they make him look like an under-aged boy.

The character will be MR's cousin from Japan (i.e. identical face but with brown hair). The most important trait, her bust size, will be somewhere between MR and Honoka so that TN covers the full spectrum of kawaii boobs. She will be a waitress at a cosplay cafe so that it will make more sense when she receives a million fetish anime outfits. Her fighting style isn't developed yet but TN will figure that out later as it's lower on the priority list.
