I think Gracia would have been a lot better but Naotora is technically a milf so I guess thats her niche in DoA.

Yeah, and it's called incumbency and brand name.
Gotta build that brand name before you can use it. they built theirs with hadokens DOA built theirs with "she kicks high"
I don't find hadoukens any more appealing or reputable than high kicking girls, myself.

Doesn't matter where you are heading it matters where DOA is heading and so far it feels like it's stuck in Japan.
My direction is more important than DOA's.
Though, if DOA actually decides to fully localize, that would aid its reputation, which as we agreed has never gone smoothly overseas. It would make a lot of Westerners unhappy, sure, but they're already unhappy for the most part and likely will be regardless what TN does at this point.
Naotora ii was probabaly a no brainer because shes one of the only characters that have a melee style of combat.
Back when the senran kagura anouncement was made i was hoping the new girl character would be katsuragi, but naotora plays pretty similarly, and if shes anything like she is in SW people are going to love her! having played that game i know how dope she is, but those who are unfamilar I understand the initial disapointment.

Li is my favourite character in SW's so her inclusion isn't bad in my eyes. (Besides the moe part which I know where people are coming from)

And if there is indeed a Dynasty/Samurai pack, I want a Zhenji costume for Helena.
You must have skipped over all of my posts, where in typical fashion I am quite reasonable in my critiques.
Mediation is not always the most reasonable course of action.
At least the animations/movesets will be copied from outside DOA's own roster this time. She is bound to have at least a bit more legitimacy than some previous entries who shall go unnamed.
I'm not sure how I feel about this overall. On one hand, I'm a little excited to see TN doing more stuff with Koei as a SW fan. On the other, I do wish they had just did an original character. Though if they were going to bring someone from SW, I wish it was someone else. It's not that I dislike Naotara li but there are so many other characters in that franchise that are much cooler and it would be epic to see them in. I'm sure they could of given them a unique move set even if they use weapons since that's what happened with Momiji and Rachel. I understand why people are frustrated though. I don't think anyone was expecting this one to be guest character from another game.

Mediocre? well....that's an opinion right there. I think DOA5 is far better than the previous games and i would definitely play it over Tekken. Not sure on Street Fighter though because Alpha 2 gold is one of my favourite games of all time....ANYWAY i'm trailing here.
There isn't any reason they can't compete but then i don't really want it to. Looking by how Street Figher 5 is going with "appealing to everyone by lowering the amount of complaints as much as possible" then nah, i don't.
Your franchise sucks when it starts trying to appeal to everyone, something which Capcom has not learned (especially since it just doesn't work). Careful what ye wishes for my lad, lest ye have another Resident Evil 6 on our hands.
