So
Her frame data... ugh. Nothing leaves her at + frames or even frames at least? lol

I think she has 3 stances, not 2. Rondo which is her Sabaki stance (:4::P+K: or:4: after moves), Metaetto (wtf is this? someone with better japanese skills please enlighten us) :8:or:2::P+K: and 8 or 2 after some moves - the only followup is Rose Hip which is a GB that leaves her at -21? LoL!! - and finally she has the Flower Roll or something (:3::P+K:) - which has the weirdest followups using the Start button. Maybe they are taunts? Also a Mid K and Mid P which leave her at -8 and an OH.

Yeah, and for all the Lili fans she as a move named Water Lili - :3::H+K:
And for FF fans she has the Lionheart :D :P::P::K:
For YuYu Hakusho fans she has a Rose Whip :4::P::P:
The stances are called Rondo, Minuet and Flower Wheel. She has 8 sabakis o_O

Interesting, her jabs are listed as "Flicker" and "Double Flicker"

Lol, I knew that would catch your eye.

Systema punches are pretty much boxing punches, except they're meant to be more explosive and adapted for closed ranged situations, hence the flick motions. They end up looking more like wing chun punches though.

Been reading through HNI manga recently and I'm really into it.

For some randomly odd reason, if you re-watch the last episode of Rio: Rainbow Gate (Episode 13), you can see somewhere at the end, a similar pigtailed gothic lolita girl resembling Mary Rose's character model next to Rio's possessed father. Could Mary Rose possibly came from a different Tecmo series? I know that girl isn't really from Rio's series but also from another Tecmo slot machine game.

She is Nina/Juujika (I think that the difference in the names come from the different localization of the game, but I don't know precisely what is her game): and effectively she is really similar to Mary Rose being a gothic dark girl with a dark side. But like it was already said, this is a clichè really typical in Japan, if you know the work "To Love-Ru", the character of Yami/Golden Darkness has exactly all these characteristics.

However Nina from the look seems to be a tsundere kind of character, while Mary Rose doesn't appear to be a character with a such personality.

If you put it that way that there are things beyond DOATEC, the Mugen Tenshin Clan and MIST, it would literally be an interesting mindfuck plot twist. If given the chance that Momiji and Rachel were written a story, it's probably to exterminate Mary Rose but it would also dwell far from the point that Victor Donovan is the true mastermind. (in which he should have been playable as well if we were to consider Mary Rose as the ultimate villain behind MIST)

I don't think that there are things beyond the current main plot, the thing more close it was the presence of Tengu in the story (a demonic creature from another dimension): if we think that to awaken him was Genra ,and that Donovan could be one old Hajinmon Ninja (or maybe the same Genra?), maybe in the future we could see other beings of this kind, but only like creatures similar to fiends related to Donovan, not like a real third faction.

I think that Mary Rose could be related to DOATEC (Helena' side) or MIST (Donovan' side), but not something more.

PS: I just realized now hat effectively a third faction was showned in the game, the CIA investigating on DOATEC represented by Irene.

Was hoping to see a bit more gameplay, 3 attacks isn't much to go on.
TN trolling Sweden hard.

I agree, but sadly the trailer was thought for the entire Arcade version and not only for her (that had a slighty more focus in her status of new character at its first appearence).

And yes, this was a great troll! XD

So

The stances are called Rondo, Minuet and Flower Wheel. She has 8 sabakis

Thanks so much for the info!

I wonder how TN will adress the problem with her height. Will she actually auto "evade" high attacks and throws? If yes: insta ban on tournaments? If not: will she become a walking hitbox issue?

It's possible that she could have a special hit box, this in my opinion would be a nice introduction in the series. But in this case I think that she could be balanced by other factors: for example I really think that she will be a featherweight just like Alpha-152 (IMO this could work like a good counterbalance).

Looking at Nina/Juujika, I guess it's safe to say she was the basis in creating Mary Rose. The way her hair is positioned (specifically the bangs), how the pigtails and hair ribbons looks like and even the petite body frame with the underdeveloped breasts. If anything, the only thing that differs them is eye color.

It fuzzes me that Donovan has Genra's mask when it's also attached to Ayane's purple shozoku. Mary Rose's alliance is still in question, she doesn't seemed that much evil on her trailer as opposed to what her bio tells us but the way she talks does reminded me of Kasumi Alpha's playfully innocent voice or did I mistook her cutesy acting as something yandere?

It's pretty likely that in the crows of gothic lolita, Ninja/Juujika was her main source of inspiration for TN, being not the most famous character of this kind (at least worldwide, not sure of her effective popularity in Japan), but a character owned by Tecmo.

It fuzzes me that Donovan has Genra's mask when it's also attached to Ayane's purple shozoku. Actually DOA Dimenions made clear like the mask owned by Ayane is not the same of Genra (she wear it also while her foster father is alive). So seems just that the mask could be very simple one of the characterstics of all the members belonging to the Mugen Tenshin clan - Hajin sect. For this reason I said that Donovan could be the same Genra (maybe who was killed in DoA3 was only a clone) or maybe an ex member of the clan become a nukenin (and this could explain his interest toward the ninja, how he could know the whereabouts of the Mugen Tenshin clan and why Genra was affiliated with him).

EDIT @Rawbietussin About the personality of Marie Rose like depicted in the bio, here the words of Air Gear (that know the Japanese) about:
Actually, her bio didn’t say she is demonic. The 3 Kanji characters (小悪魔) in her bio that say “Little Devil” do not literally mean anything demonic.

In Japanese, the term is just use to describe a girl who is “very cute and alluring”.

As for whether she is Yandere, no idea...

Clever move on Team Ninja's side, claiming she is 18 and just small and childlike... No one can prove them wrong and they now can dress her in the skimpiest bikinis and fetish wear. Japanese otakus and pedophiles all over the world will rejoice. >.>

what a wondrous troll to Sweden where DOAD was controversial : creating an over 18 jailbait that looks like 12. REALLY?!

Haha, ye. To be fair the game in itself was never controversial, the statement that got it "perhaps banned" in DoA2 was that the current regulations could be interpreted as making 16 year olds in sexual suggestive themes illegal when it came to game visual characters. For it to actually be enforced was very unlikely. The game was pulled off the marked though, as TN didn't want to take any risks. That said Sweden is the country which has breed more pornstars than I care to explain, and the law was not up to date in order to handle visual characters and sex appeal as this was something new back then. It was simple a question of technology pushing the need for further specifications. -_-

What does that mean ?

It is technique a fighter from Ippo series has. There is a boxer that does the "flicker" move with his hands where he kinda "slaps out" his hand for great range and very fast repetition, and even though the single punch doesn't do much damage the initial stuns and the sum of the followups hurt.

I know that the character seems much more young, but honestly I think that often we all tend to give too much importance to similar questions.Team Ninja is not using a real actress, after all it's only a fictional digital character: we are fond to them because we are fan of the series, but I think that often the love for a work end to make forget to who like it that they are not talking of real persons, but only of virtual data.

By the way, I hope for her English voice, she sounds like this so people can switch to the English voice and stop crying a river about high pitched voice.
They could easily transfer Leifang's current English voice - Cassandra "Loli-fang" Morris - to Marie Rose and bring back the English VA from DOAD - Zinnia Su - who sounds a lot more convincingly like she's in her 20s.

Bam! No more cringe-inducing matches against Leifang in English, the token loli voice will actually belong to a token loli, all's right with the world.
