What's up guys. Some of you may know me already, but for those who don't.. WASSUP. Anyway, I decided to make this beginner tutorial just to kind of bring Hayate back to life a little bit. I know that my man @Allan Paris already touched on these things a few years ago, but I decided to bring out a more updated verison. PLEASE be sure to include any notes in here that will be added for future tutorials. This is just the beginner video, so there isn't too many crazy things here. Also, shoutout to my fellow Hayate players. @TakedaZX @Zeo @Shade -Rojikku.

Thats acually plenty of usefull Information for a "Beginner Tutorial". Uhm..... just one thing..... I know you wanted to keep the Tutorial Brief and Concise.... but I would have liked to see the Guard Breaks a few times. It would only take a second to use the Set Dummy to Guard All short cut...... unless ofcourse you are using a stick then that would be a process.

I had no idea his Range was better than Hayabusa's.

Any tips on how to perform The Raijin ? :)

Yeah, I figured people would just know what the guard breaks would look like at this point. But I should have demonstrated them. Also, I can't really give too many tips on the Raijin since I don't use it much in this game. In doa4, I used both sticks to execute it. But now, I either go for the combo damage, or the other Raijin variation. Not as much reward for doing the throw.

I use to play Grapplers so Their Guard Breaks were a nice way of setting up throws.... its when I started experimenting outside my comfort zone that I noticed some Guard Breaks cause the opponent to take one huge step backwards..... usually outside of all my attack ranges......

With Hayate it seems like you can stop opponents from trying to get away by forcing them guess after a guard break..... which I love doing.... ;)

The reason I wanted to learn the Raijin is because wanted to test it on Stages like The Lab.

Loved this guide, short in lenght but large in content. :)

@Rojikku, I have a question: do you find 8/2p+kp to be an useful as string poker?

I find Raijing worthless. It only inflicts 5 more points than his other 3 part throw while this other almost always gives you enviromental damage wich Raijin almost never gives. So, at the end of my day, Raijin ends up delivering less damage when comparing which the other throw. Not mention of the extremetly hard execution, which leads to drop it quite often...

I know.... some weird Logic behind designing that throw. I don't think any throw should be more than a 2 step execution process..... I mean The Izuna requires more inputs technically but its always a single motion. :4::1::2::3::6: = :426:

Yes this is why Kof is one of the hardest Fighting games in execution, and every other game besides Guilty Gear has it easy.

This is a great tutorial for the basics. Hayate is very misunderstood, because he's considered top tier. No, Hayate is a very all around character who needs fundamentals to win with him. Very fun character.

KOF characters also only have, like, 15-20 moves overall compared to the 100+ moves in 3D fighters.

Very nice, albeit brief, tutorial Rojikku. Should serve as a decent starting point for any aspiring Hayate players. Good stuff.

Oh yeah right... this is about Hayate.
So about his Teleports..... is it possible to hit the opponent so hard that it will give you enough advantage to Teleport and continue a set up or juggle ? That would be fun :)

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to set this up unless you go for the 50/50 mixup. The opponent can always slow escape and block, or slowescape and mash causing them to get re stunned.

Damn.... oh well.... its still a great tool..... plus when ever you lose stun advantage its always nice to go for a throw..... which The Ninja's seem to be really good at.

You missed a few crushes up close. The old me would ask why would you advise a player to attack from -3 even with a crush, a lot of players retaliate with mids after blocking. However, you are teaching them the most important rule in this game; How To Button. The best part about this tutorial to me, real spit.

Lastly, my Hayate gets in hoodless's ass. It is more intermediate to advanced stuff but you can get in on him just fine. Most if not all the top players or at least a defensively-decent player should be reacting to his charge attacks to get in, seeing as he can't cancel none of them and wind flies everywhere when he initiates them. At least I know hoodless does :(.
