Can't speak for other artists but I would think twice about submitting a serious, original idea for Tecmo to own when I could use it for my own characters instead. It's more fun to submit silly ideas

Yeah its strange lol, Then again I feel like my designs have stayed away from any sort of thing they mentioned so I don't feel like it was aimed at me per say. With that said It's pretty rude to demand other people exclusively to design what you want because you don't like common themes, right?
Still it's sad that people would get so heated over something that's meant to be fun, Personally I wouldn't make a belly dancer design because there's a lot of them so I'd be worried about copying other people's design element's. but there's some gorgeous one's and regardless I want people to be able to design whatever they want without having to worry about anonymous people suddenly trashing their designs because it's a part of a common theme or whatever. :/

Couldn't find it for a second but I got it! I've seen this person @ipopmilk post a couple designs now and all of them are just so good, I swear at some point I need to get one of those tablets that let's you draw on computer!

That being said, when your character has nothing but crap for costumes you may feel more compelled to submit something worthwhile. Plus you may have a vision for that particular character, you could use it for something of your own, but chances are you'd have to reshape it for what's likely a different vision altogether.
Moving along, just found out about this but if there's still time I guess I'll go ahead and resubmit this here for our poorly dressed Karate man.
Credit to Kronin for drawing it for me as my own drawing talent is questionable if existent.
