Just my opinion but I never found a female character endearing because they knew how to dress like a whore.

DOA 3 era Hitomi was my favorite because she carried herself as the coolest. She was cute but with a serious tone about her.

Well, I think Tina was stylish and most costume fitted her character and fighting style. I argee with you on Hitomi. She dresses like a regular girl actually.

To be totally fair to the characters, none of the female cast ever dress skimpy in the story mode. Can't judge them by what players choose to put on them when they fight with them.

How they present the character in any mode is how I'm going to see them in my head. It can, in fact, ruin the image you have of a character.

But if story mode is the larger trigger I'll just point out how DOA 4 ruined Hitomi with her ending of dancing topless on her balcony while yelling "good morning!" to everybody on the street. That is something that NEVER lined up with her character image from 3, and they even admitted they changed her image because that's what Japanese people were polled as wanting to see at the time.

Helena's outfit is sexier and shows more skin than her default in 5. If you compare it to her default in DOA 2-4 it's even more revealing - she actually wore pants in those games.

Certain characters have more class than 90% of the DLC costumes they've gotten over the years, and I maintain that it isn't fair to head canon them as whores just because certain players elect to play them in G-Strings.

To me, the canon or even head canon is irrelevant. If its in front of me, it exists in that moment and that moment is a bad one. We don't play the story mode for hundreds of hours, we play the actual vs game itself and that is where all of this stuff resides.

Fair enough! I accept and respect what you're saying. Guess I've just learned to roll my eyes and tune it out when I see less than a gram of clothing on female characters in VS. Easier to read/react to their moves that way anyway so they're really just giving themselves a disadvantage.

A person/character isn't made a whore by what they wear, its who and what they stick in their bodily cavities and why they do it.

If it were not for the massive oppressive push from the left to force their opinions on those who disagree with them and their use of shame/slander to enforce that they get their way I wouldn't speak out on this issue. If this was a independant and creative decision deriving purely from Tecmo again id have no issue with this. But the fact that Tecmo is doing this to cave to third wave feminism is absurd.

The fact that these extremist minority groups and their supporters have already given Laura Croft a mastectomy, removed any kind of character arc from Rey in Star wars, made Mortal Kombat even uglier, and are now putting women on the western front in ww2 (as opposed to the historical female Russian troops) just proves that this fringe group very much wants to impose their crazy beliefs on others and existing properties.

They cannot create new things which is why they seek to influence established IPs. They are no different than Christian zealots who push for women to cover up because of religious morality. Why is the extreme right so easily brushed aside but the extreme left who wants THE EXACT SAME THING listened to?

Makes no sense at all. Either way this "please take me serious" push will never work when the DOAX series existed and just got a new installment at that. Anyone who is so easily offended by the human form is long gone, just by reputation alone.

Nope! I expect TN to push units off the shelves with this stance but have tit jiggle on a slider like it was in 5 and provide their typical loodz through DLC like everyone else who has played a DOA game ever in their life.

I thought I'd chime in.

You can have sexy characters and costumes without it looking like a soft porn. My main issue is that so many characters where sexualised in a way tha didn't even make sense for their personality, especially Marie Rose who is basically a child, to put her in a playboy bunny outfit is pretty gross. It's the fact that every female is sexualised in the same way means that they lose their identity/uniqueness.

And even when they are desexualising it seems the characters are losing personality. The body suit Kasumi is wearing in the DOA6 reveal doesn't even suit her, it looks weird.

There was nothing wrong with her konoichi dress (which shows plenty of skin), and even the default cat suit she wears in DOA5 is awesome. So I know DOA is capable of amazing costume design, I just hope they scale back thongs and booty shorts.

And while I find ninjas fighting in swim suits really stupid, i think there is a better way to do it. Instead of to have them in nothing but bikinis, give them a hat or kimono, or jumper wrapped round the waist to give the characters some personality. Even if it's this

Something about you seems familiar... But I agree, basically they need more casual stuff like they did in that DLC pack in Ulitmate. Swimwear is subjective since as DLC, it's an option and not mandatory.

Also be careful, since I don't think the mods like DPing... Also that Kendall Jenner outfit is very cute imo :-D albeit somewhat revealing still

It's funny because all of the franchises you've mentioned have only become more successful after making these changes. You can't blame KT for wanting to get on the winning team.
