You can see all Mila stuff here

http://dead-or-alive.fr/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1681

I know someone who did a pretty cool concept for Mila but she's unsure if she wants to give TN the rights to it lol

Okaaay...then what will she use the idea for instead? It's not as if she won't be allowed to wear it, make it for someone else or give it to one of her original characters, just because Team Ninja had the outfit in their game.

Yup. They're turning her into a cosplay geek.
which peopke know I'm all for, even mine is partially inspired by another character, but..eh. I tried to avoid vf Vanessa Mila, as that's literally just female Leon. but I'm assuming people would still pick that over mine. ooh, I'm debating if I should make the jacket silver instead of white. thoughts? I'm thinking of adding a cap as well for a last boyish touch.

Maybe try to blend a lighter silver color with the white to create a glossy, metallic white effect? As for the cap, it's really just up to you. For me, the whole focus should be the jacket and it should be the one to stand out the most.

yeah, that'd match how the interior is supposed to be irridescent, or shimmer, if thats not the right word. no idea how to illustrate that though.

Is this something similar to what you were going?

Bayman: A desert spetznaz outfit, or something that doesn't look like it's from Halo.

Zack: He's got too many weird outfits. I know he's comic relief, but he could use something a little less flashy, but without making him look like an old man.

Gen Fu: He's DoA's Mr. Miyagi, so why beat around the bush? Give him a Miyagi outfit.

To your artists out there, get cracking.

You mean Master Roshi?

They're pretty much the same characters, but you can't say one copied off of the other since they both came out about the same time. It's probably coincidence that they're alike, but the idea fits.

EDIT: actually, now that i think about it, alot of those characters seem to share a similar origin. There's also Master splinter, Yoda, etc. Each one is an old geezer mentor. Either way, Gen Fu could use something to reflect one of those characters.

For the last time, being old and knowing martial artists do not make you the same character. Almost everything else about Roshi/Gen Fu is different aside from those two things. Also, Gen Fu's tropical DLC costume already gives him a "roshi-ish" vibe for those who want that.

Not same, but similar. It's clear they have similar origins. Ayane, Kasumi, and Momiji aren't the same characters, but they're very much ninjas. They start off with the same design then find ways to make them different from each other and more unique so they don't collide with other ninja characters from other games, movies, etc. Notice none of them have a "generic ninja" costume.

It makes sense if you think about it. Try making your own character: you'll most likely resort to either changing someone you know, modifying another existing character, or make a generic character and make them different from the rest of that type. Take a look at the casual thread, and you can see it throughout.

I can back this up. all of my ocs, and even the Leon and Mila outfits, take inspiration from other preexisting characters.

And this character simply came into your head, or did you have an inspiration?
I addressed that with an edit to my previous post, but you probably posted your reply before I typed that up.

First rule of everything: Something cannot come from nothing. Everything is derivative of other things. Thus, I'm sure she was inspired and molded by a great many things. She is strange though in that I have difficulty pinning down what those are, unlike most characters in my stories.

Yeah, totally didn't see the edit, and the page fault didn't help. But there inlies my point, characters that need more costumes could benefit by referring back to their inspiration. Sometimes characters give nods to characters that spawned from them, but this is rare. We could do alot with Gen Fu, actually. We could go wizard on him. We could make him an old general or something. There's alot of room for someone like him.

*looks left*

done

edit: To be fair, Gren is anomalous among my characters in that I can't identify inspirations for her.
lemme describe a few of my OCs. Jase, inspired by scourge the hedgehog, kazuma the shell bullet, the creeper, zoom, warblade, few others. Marissa Malone, inspired by Rubi Malone of WET, Tweed of Operation Raccoon City, with a little bit of.the sirens torgue head in borderlands 2. SSylviana Argentus, a fox girl, and General DeMera have no direct inspirstions, but by the time I finalized designs, they wound up resembling existing characters one way or the other anyway. my point is that no character is 100% original.
