not under current management though.They can just market the game as a kickass fighting game, keep true to their original main characters while at the same time marketing the fanservice and sexyness of the game, and marketing marie and honoka as their please.
A game can do both, and do well.
Originally with 5 they were trying to turn DOA into Tekken, aesthetically, to cash in on their crowd. Then they realized bikini dlc sold well, so they just doubled down on the fanservice, abandoning all promotion of it as a fighter, and then Japan ate marie and honoka up because they are weeaboo icons, so now they are the face of the franchise as well.
Itagaki could do both at the same time. New guys? Not so much.
