DLC Costumes

If going by the last Halloween DLC not everyone will get a costume from the contest and those that may make it aren't guaranteed to be for the character they were designed for.

Hopefully they give Leon some love this time since his last 2 halloween costumes were a port of his old gladiator costume from DOA3 and a brad wong hand me down.

I'll be happy with one of these 3

The first two costumes are truly amazing.
I suppose Lauren ghost would act the same way as Ryu's zombie in his Yaiba costume. Team Ninja has no excuse this time! No more swap.

The same for Lisa, I hope they won't... OH WAIT WHAT, Team Ninja gave Lisa an original costume! I'm still surprised... I'm definitely gonna buy it.

If the pack is good enough, maybe I'll consider buying it entirely this time.
Because it's probably gonna be the last big pack for ALL the characters...

i had forgotten about that possessed Leon one. no way that ghost Lauren is getting in though, if she was actually attached to him the entire time it would look really goofy without the proper animations.

at most she could appear in the winning intros.

I actually prefer it without ghost lauren, the costume itself is all i care about since its the closest thing he'll most likely ever get to this

I remember that...plenty of people was PISSED that certain characters got costumes that was meant for others...

I would have no problem if I see my Succubus Queen costume on Helena for example but that's honestly it. Anyone else and I would be pissed.

While obviously its not gonna happen, I do kinda wish one of mine would make it in. Specifically, my magician mila, mecha Leon, or Nile queen Rachel. I'm pretty sure the designs are too plain for TN's tastes though.

That said I would also love Anubis Leon. Truly, The Face Of Death.


As for Mila though, shell either get a sexy bee entry, or a hand me down from a previous dlc rather than a fan designed one like last Halloween...

Still kinda want that old Van Helsing outfit from the first Halloween contest entries.

So, 21 days from now until the Halloween pack will be released (well, that's the TGS info), it might come out on october 13/14 in US and EU regions. Hopefully, TN starts with the Teaser pictures really soon. They might start to tease us in 4 days. That would be 2 pictures a day until the release. Let's see.

Mila has a ton of good entries and I wished one was used last year instead of mummy mila. Pumpkin Mila was okay but it could've been better. Fingers crossed :3


Also even though I've not bought any DLC since Vanilla I'm thinking about getting this Halloween Pack if I like a majority of the costumes. I've liked the shown ones so far as well

I remain of the opinion that the outfits are really beautiful, more apparently even the texture quality seems to be overall good.

Buying DLC is a way of supporting this game, however, you are welcome to ignore that fact and believe whatever you want. Unfortunately, TN needs to create DLC to boost their income for DOA since selling copies of the game is not enough to keep it running until DOA6 comes out. TN uses this to their advantage and sells bikini or "fetish" costumes here and there because they know a larger amount of their fans will buy those costumes over casual costumes.

TN only does this because it is easier to sell these kinds of costumes rather than thinking of a different way to increase the income from DOA. TN know it works, so they think "Why not? Some of our fans will buy it/like it and we can make money from it".

I don't know why people believe DLC in and of itself is a downfall of the gaming industry when it's WHAT DLC is used for is the problem. Cosmetics is never a problem for DLC and in most cases it makes sense for there to be DLC pricetags for cosmetics, you don't need to buy them nor do they really enhance anything.
The issue with DLC is when it comes to half-assing shit and taking content out to THEN make it DLC or having plans for DLC even before the game is released. TN has never done that with DOA as we didn't get unlock keys for anything except the costumes themselves(and that's mainly because the catalogs ARE where the costume data is). Marie, Phase and Nyo was all made WAY after DOA5U's release and Honoka and Raidou came with the Digital and CD release of DOA5LR. Hell, even the STAGES are free and only 3 characters needed to be bought then(not sure if you need to buy them for Last Round lol).

Besides, DOA5 sadly didn't sell as much as past DOA games and I'm not even certain if DOA5U or DOA5LR combined even equaled the typical costs, so it makes sense if they are selling well with cosmetic DLC, why the hell should that stop them?
And same to those who like the "fetish" over casual outfits, best way to make cash and there's no real issue with that either.

But yes I have no doubts that the DLC sales has them rolling in the $$$. So long as it doesn't compromise the gameplay I'm ok with it.

Sorry I must have worded it weird. Yes 5+5U+5LR combined sold about 1.2 million copies (not including CF). Vanilla 5 and 5U combined sold 900,000.
