The new stage has to be something totally new if they want to justify charging for it*. A remake would be fine but I personally don't think that would be enough, it has to have something truly unique to stand out.

*There's still no confirmation yet that it is being charged for so I will continue to regard it as an "if"
I haven't been on this thread much, but how is it not confirmed that it's a paid DLC? When you go to the Season Pass 4 page on the PSN it says that it includes 70+ costumes AND a stage. Plus there are less costumes this time around meaning that the stage IS paid DLC.

They have NOT said anything about the stage being paid yet, they haven't even ANNOUNCED it yet. You go ahead and believe it to be so, I personally expect the worst (it IS paid) but hope that's not the case.

Yeah I see what you mean, but what's the point in including a free stage in a Season Pass? IIRC Azuchi wasn't included in SP3

I knew you were going to use that reasoning, I said before that maybe they put it there as a means of announcing it but its still available for free. I've said before that the evidence is there that it will be paid (and will reluctantly accept the situation if it is) but I have also pointed out NUMEROUS TIMES that they haven't charged for new stages before and it seems like an odd move for them to do so now.

Yeah, maybe you're right after all:) Personally I think that there's more evidence of the stages being paid than free. Plus that's so TN of them to start charging for stages, even though they have been free in the past. They literally have no boundaries when it comes to DLC (I recently saw what they did with DOAX3 DLC and I was horrified), and since nobody's really complaining about 500$ worth of DLC and buying 100$ SP I don't see why they would just stop at paid costumes.

i hate all the hard work and details go to NiOh not DOA but if they willing to channel all the expertise on Nioh to make this new stage ..

i'm ok with that

We haven't had a DOA 4 stage yet, how about seaside market?

And if that does happen the trailer should show Lei Fang and Hitomi fighting

The wrestling ring was a remake from 4. Personally, I wish they remade either Kyoto in bloom, gambler's paradise and/or waterfall valley.

some of the stages not similar with DOA5 stages but shares some features for example Kyoto in bloom similar with Sakura, Waterfall Valley with Flow.

seaside market and gambler paradise would be smarter choice for a remake

I can see a doa4 stage coming back, but they'd need to derandomize it for use in competitive play. The stages were beautiful, but completely unpredictable and somewhat messy imo compared to what we have in DOA5, where you actually know what's gonna happen...even with the falling coconuts and stuff.

I think seaside market gives something we don't currently have. We don't have like a pretty stage with shops and stuff that isn't filled with ugliness and grit (city 2, crimson 2) where a lot of the modern casual outfits would fit in. Kyoto in bloom could fit with the modern casual outfits too though.

How about Temple on the mountain or DOATEC great hall? They have rather distinct designs.

Just remove the moving obstacles in stages like gambler's paradise, experimental playground and savannah safari and they can all work on 5.

why do you want to remove obstacle lol, obstacle is fun

Probably because he knows that TN can't just easily slap obstacles and the characters jumping or stumbling over them onto DOA5 fighting mechanics. The whole gameplay system would have to be overhauled for that feature. That would be a lot of work and it would change the perfectly fine and polished fighting system that is now in place...just for one DLC stage.

Yep, DOA4's stages were game play wise a huge mess....like spilled frying oil on carpet, that kind of mess. We may have more generic and box stages now, but it's much more organized and predictable.

but aren't there actually some kind of "obstacles" in DOA5? in Ends of the Earth you can climb over a snowy cliff (?) and in Hot Zone you can climb over to the other side and do a jumping punch/kick, maybe they could do the same for seaside market
