Stuff like this is why I wish you could use dlc in story mode

You know, they could always use DLC for other means:
- Give stages more priority. What I mean by this is simply adding more stages in the game, maybe even expand upon them (look at "Lorelei" from DOAD for instance). Since stages/environment have the biggest role in DOA, they need to start taking advantage of that more often instead of once a year.

Closest thing to real game was alpha DoA 5 with the radical aesthetic changes. More male relevance, smaller tits, rather conservative outfits, urban/dark, etc. Was about as successful as the HD DVD movies. This is why we see a ton of these gimmick/sexy/cute/themed/collaboration outfits that are attached to $90+ season passes now instead of more legacy/casual/male exclusive packs because those bombed.

Who knows they might try again for DoA 6, but I doubt it especially since DoAX3 is a thing now.
Keep in mind those "radical aesthetic changes" were the parts everybody didn't like and complained about.

5 dropped almost everything DOA was liked for and I don't just mean tits. Literally only good things about 5 were arguably more technical gameplay and more detaile. But those came at the loss of most of the actual game (arcade mode, environment interaction, stage throws replaced with rps cliffhangers, no music, etc etc)
When it comes to DOA, no one knows what they truly want.

I do!

Also this. But the problem is the new ten has proven incapable of creating anything new. That's why they kept adding superior doa3 stages instead.

They might as well just port over the other 234 stages.

I must have ESP because I knew exactly what I'd see under the spoilers

You don't even need to know ESP to know what Argentus wants...if you been on this board for even a month, you got the gist of Argentus lol.

But honestly, I'm in absolute agreement of this.

DOA's biggest draw has been the insane level of craziness that can happen in each stage. From the Strip of Las Vegas to the inside of a Clock Tower to a burning wasteland and be able to go through some of the most insane shit possible.
We seriously need some of that craziness back, whether it's through legacy stages or even new ones that fit the past games.
I have no issues with the stage selection of DOA5, but I wish it was counterbalanced with the old type of stages from the older games. This is something I would like way more than costumes(hell I would ignore the costume fetishes if they gave us more stage priority and types)

I'm more a fan of the male ones, myself, and mostly because those are cosplaying as cool characters. Though, Ein should've gotten a Dio costume.

Since only the female costumes are destructable here, I'd like to propose a Dragon Ball pack where only a few characters get destructable costume. For reference, with asterisks as destructable...:

Hayabusa - Goku * (Glasses select Kame, Kaio and Go uniforms, hairstyle triggers Super Saiyan)
Hayate - Saiyan Arc Vegeta * (Glasses select Scouter)
Ein - Majin Vegeta * (for the skintight bodysuit, hairstyle adds M mark and Super Saiyan hair)
Zack - Broly (hairstyle triggers Legendary Super Saiyan)
Eliot - Cell Arc Gohan * (hairstyle triggers Super Saiyan 2)
Gen Fu - Muten Roshi (with glasses)
Kasumi - Cell Arc Unit 18
Phase 4 - Artificial Human Arc Unit 18 *
Leifang - 23rd Tournament Arc Chi Chi
Nyotengu - Saiyan Arc Chi Chi (with Bansho Fan)
Tina - Videl
Bass - Mr. Satan
Honoka - Saiyan Arc Bulma
Ayane - Freeza Arc Bulma
Bayman - Unit 16
Leon - Nappa *
Lisa - (I dunno. This series doesn't have enough girls, least of all black ones.)
Marie - Kid Chi Chi
Jann Lee - Dragon Balls Arc Yamcha
Rig - Freeza
Raidou - Mecha Freeza
Christie - Towa
Helena - Buu Arc Bulma
Mila - (Argentus, who do you think would be good here? I don't want to disappoint you.)
Momiji - Buu Arc Chi Chi
Rachel - Buu Arc Unit 18
Kokoro - Cell Arc Bulma
Brad Wong - Tenshinhan
Alpha - Super Saiyan glow
Akira - Cell
Jacky - Unit 17
Pai - Chaozu
Sarah - 23rd Tournament Bulma
Yes! That would rock @Darkton93. Maybe you should be in charge of the ideas at TN from now on. Also, I would want that pack to have a DBZ stage

Not true. I want my character to not suck and not be the male dress up doll of the game.

Everything else is just Icing on the cake really, for better or worse.

Come now Zeo! you know as much as me that they wanted to convert Ein into a sex idol! Soon, Ein will be in the cover of a male version of a DOAX game. People may ask "What happen to Ein and why is he not in future DOA fighting games?"

Oh that's simple. He's in a DOAX game due to lack of sales! (+1 if you can find the 2nd barrier joke here.)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Although for Ein improvements, as much as I feel your pain on it as well as his attire selections....balance changes for all of us are pretty much minority here.

If one male character made an appearance in DOAX3 (and it wasn't Zack, considering you know... it's his island.) I wouldn't be surprised one bit if it was Ein, complete with swimsuits, speedos and everything else you could think of. I have no idea why that particular character was singled out to be the sex symbol of male DOA characters. It really does baffle me.

For balance, the funny thing is that everyone will tell you "he's fine" but no one actually uses him when things get serious.

As for staying on topic... give Ein a costume that covers more than 50% of his body please, thanks.

Why does everyone seem to assume Ein is the least dressed male when Jann (my most hated character) tends to bare his chest way more often? Are you basing this on Ein's last halloween costume? Hell, Jann's MMA outfit is far more revealing than the other guys (you can argue that it's THE MOST revealing outfit int the ENTIRE game).

Back to the topic of dlcs, the discount of the first season/costume pass got me wondering; who here purchased the passes and who only purchased costumes or bundles individually? I personally haven't purchased a pass and am honestly torn over whether I should buy the second pass when it does go on discount (since it has a lot of bundles I want) despite already buying several costumes individually and one bundle from it...

When Jann Lee goes shirtless, it's not as much as a big deal because he's done that since day 1, and he is based off Bruce Lee. When he's shirtless, it's done more for a cool and fighter effect, even the speedo is something I believe Bruce Lee has worn in a movie once. Also unlike Ein, he covers up in the majority of his outfits.

This gets me wondering; when the guys wear revealing outfits (and not just the ones that show skin but also the suits that emphasize their build and muscles) its treated as looking badass. Can anyone give an example of a revealing costume by a female character that is meant to "show" their baddassery over sexiness? The only ones that come to mind for me are SOME of the outfits from the 3 ninja theme pack...

The issue with that is how people see things. And unfortunately, most people don't see females with less clothing as badass in any way...even when it should be.

I mean let's be frank for a second:

golden_axe_ii_heroes_by_gidraattacks-d8sdmg1.jpg

Even though both Ax Battler and Tyris Flare(the man and woman and not the dwarf lol) are pretty much near the same levels of nakedness, for some reason, most people will ONLY see the man as "badass" despite the fact that the woman should be just as equally badass for going into the same situation with not much skin showing either.

It gets even more ridiculous as this is just deviant art and we get to what they usually wear:

old_games_need_loving_too_by_drcloud.jpg

It's can easily be tossed into Double Standards because that's what it honestly is...
Masculinity and Femininity usually gets confused completely at times when in truth, Tyris would be acting more masculine with how she acts and shows off her body in comparison to other characters who do it for specific seduction purposes(which would be near feminine)

So to ask your actual question: You can probably say Ayane and Christie honestly. Christie may use her body for her assassin work but I honestly don't think she would give a damn if she had to kill someone in the buff right then and there, same with Ayane. It feels more within their personalities that they do what they do not because they are female, but because who they are, being female just makes it easier at times.

A fair point, but you didn't really give a DOA costume example so my question still stands. That being said, you're right in that both those girls tend to present themselves as badass more than sexy (I'm sure we can all agree that Ayane in particular qualifies as THE MOST badass girl in the series and second only to Ryu overall).
