Honestly, I don't think the game needs any more characters. We've clearly got a fuckton more than they can balance properly already.

Seeing as the gender ratio of added characters since Ultimate is 1:4 male to female, I'd settle for just baseline impressive if it were a male.
But, yeah, if it's gonna be garbage either way, then maybe they shouldn't have bothered. We'll have to see...

If you seriously believe that ANOTHER female character is the actual problem when even if we get another male it will STILL be the same problem if he is still boring and bland or just plain up baseless pandering.
I don't really care either way, looks and gameplay matter more to me than trying for some iconic look.

If the new character is having a "debut costume set" DLC treatment, it could be female. And if it's female, if she's popular enough, maybe, she could be in DOAX3. haha

Regardless of if it's a sucky male character, the fact that it would be a male character at all would be a surprise and therefore slightly more interesting than a sucky female character. A sucky female character is what I expect. I don't trust them to create an interesting female character at this point. I really don't. The DOA5 track record isn't super amazing. Mila is semi-decent but needs more development. Momiji and Rachel were already there. Marie is lolworthy. P4 is meh. Nyo is okay I guess, but only exists because people likely wouldn't have bought her monstrous predecessor. And Honoka is facedesk tier.
But, we'll see.
