Dead or Alive 3 Custom Skins/Costumes thread

If you mean the model from his battle in story mode with fire reflections on his armor, I included that as a Bayman costume:

For those following the thread: I did another update to some of the costumes (mostly the DOA4-based ones). Download link and previews are on the front page as always.

Any idea if anyone has researched Stage properties? Such as the fact that if Omega's Model and moves are used in his stage you hear his voice but not in any other stages?

Also, has anyone made any progress in switching stages, would be funny to see the final boss fight in a different stage.

how to swap textures in doa2u ??
DOA2U uses .xpr files for its models, just like DOA3, so you can use the GreedXplorer like in the tutorial on the previous page. The main difference is that DOA2 doesn't detect costumes on your hard drive like DOA3 does, so you have to replace the in-game costumes with your custom ones.

DOA2U's costumes are located in datahdd2.afs. Characters with alternate hairstyles have those extra models in datahdd.afs.

I just wanted to drop in here to provide the answer to this:
Unfortunately I don't know the name of the American DOA3.0 folder, but I'll gladly update this post if any of you know what it's called.

It turns out that both 3.0 and 3.1 share the same folder (54430001). They cannot have coexisting save data though. Launching 3.1 with a present 3.0 save will break the save and create a 3.1 save in its place and vice versa. However, they can both utilize additional costumes that are present in the folder.

Oh, and awesome job on these costumes, Gultigargar.

It's been awhile but I believe the loadfile.afs (the huge file) holds most of the game data.

Then it'd be pretty difficult. You'd need a program that can read an Xbox ISO to get the AFS file then open that file in the AFSExplorer program.

Are you saying that you're trying to move the actual DOA3 game or just your DOA3 save file?

You can't move the game because it's not even on your hard drive to begin with. The Xbox 360 doesn't install original Xbox games to the hard drive. You just play from the disc.

If you're trying to move your save file, that's also impossible, because for some weird reason, DOA3 creates its save file in the hard drive's TDATA folder, rather than the UDATA folder like every other game does, but the Xbox 360 dashboard's memory section only looks at saves from UDATA.

As far as I'm aware, the Xbox 360 will only look in external drives for content it can actually use. Like gamer profiles, game saves, and things like that. It might also be able to play music and video files or view pictures, but I'm not sure about that.

If you mean that you just put your costume files onto the drive (files like kas00.xpr, for example), then the 360 won't acknowledge them. It might if you modded it though, but I don't know much about 360 modding.

Even if it does though, this won't let you use them because you would need to place them in the appropriate TDATA folder, which a non-modded 360 does not allow you to access.

Gultigargar even mentioned in the first post of this thread that there doesn't seem to be any way to get modded costumes for DOA3 onto a Xbox 360. You need to use a modded original Xbox.

Doing doa3 costumes on Unmodded Xbox 360 consoles is very easy.

If you have an original 360, you just need one of those Xbox 360 hdd to usb adapter cords that came with the larger hard drives for use when upgrading. You would connect the drive to a pc and use something like boxplorer to put the xpr and cat files in the doa3 save folder on the drive. Disconnect the drive, snap it back on your 360.

Using a slim or E console, you would just need a Sata to usb adapter for their hard drive and follow the same type of procedure.

I actually had my Dark Baki characters on 360 before I had my RGH2 Xbox 360 console and they worked just fine.

The only thing you can not do on a unmodded 360 is anything that would change the game's files such as wanting to change which costume is Kasumi's C1 in the game file, as that would require a modded system and a full copy of the game installed on the hdd.

BUMP again.
Does anyone have costumes from the Ninja H*cker days? I never backed them up and I'm feeling nostalgic.
Also:
Are we able to import models from DOA2U into 3?
Or DOAX to DOA3?
I don't remember if I ever did.

TUTORIAL: HOW TO ADD CUSTOM SKINS ON CXBX-R! (THE XBOX EMULATOR FOR PC)

Sorry it's been ages since I've made/posted anything DOA related, I've been busy with life but now I'm back! I was going to quit DOA modding but with the progress of this new amazing emulator, you can now play DOA3 on your PC! (with graphical glitches atm, but it runs at full 60fps and you don't need a powerful rig either!)

WHAT YOU NEED:
1) The emulator, a simple google search and you'll be able to find it.
2) Create a rip of your legit copy of DOA3 to your XBOX HDD then FTP the files to your PC HDD (Create a folder called 'Dead Or Alive 3' where your emulator is and copy the files to that)

3) Drag and drop your XPR and CAT files into the SAVE DATA folder, located in:
'%AppData%\Cxbx-Reloaded\EmuDisk\Partition1\'
4) In the 'Settings' tab, in the 'Config video' make sure to use Hardware mode (Not Software)
-Enable 'Run Xbox threads on all cores'
-Use XInput (So you can use XBONE or 360 USB controllers)
5) 'Emulation' then 'Start'

6) Enjoy!

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- The game is very graphically glitchy, and isn't 100% at the moment
- The UI is disabled ingame (as of the current build)

+ Audio seems to be working well (Some stage sound effects are not right)
+ Game runs mostly at 60fps! (Some stages cause slowdown, though depends on your rig)

DEAD OR ALIVE 3 MODDING JUST GOT A WHOLE LOT EASIER!

Ok so I'm looking right now at porting over usagiZ's converted Phase-4 in DOA2U/DOAO to DOA3 but I'm running into some issues here. I don't know what the button input number/values are in the moveset.bin file to convert the DOA2U input values -> DOA3 input values.

Seems that UsagiZ's work is already done on the moveset, I've just got to change the attack/guard/throw button inputs (possibly other things?) so that you can attack, so far I can import both .bin and .mot and move around (looks like DOA2 and DOA3 share movement values) but the animations are all wrong when I do anything else.

I don't think I've got to change any values in the .mot since I tested using the phase4.mot and kasumi.bin, it was playable! just that I couldn't access any Phase-4 moves.

Things that work:
+Stance (works perfectly!)
+Movements :8::2::4::6:(Works perfectly)
+AI can use the moveset correctly
(but some moves freeze the game)
-DOA2U:P:,:K:,:F: inputs cause wrong animations / crash the game (values need to match DOA3's :P:,:K:,:F: button presses!)
