Dead or Alive 6 with a different game engine

You have no idea what you are talking about, Rob. You have yet to find your voice so you're talking out loud to hear what it sounds like. Please just give it a rest.

Dead or Alive 6 with a different game engine

Something that isn't classified as an engine in technical terms. It's not running anything that the base engine isn't already capable of. It's just something Team Ninja came up with as marketing claptrap, like I said before its similar to SEGA's blast processing from the 90's -- another thing...

Dead or Alive 6 with a different game engine

Again, the "Soft Engine" isn't an engine. No amount of team ninja calling it an engine is going to magically make it an engine. And let's be honest here, you probably don't even know what it does. So don't let them sucker you into thinking they are space wizards or something, they aren't...

Dead or Alive 6 with a different game engine

One of the only reasons DOA 6 was allowed to be made was because they wanted TN to optimize their terrible engine for them. It was not a successful venture, so they will ultimately have to do something eventually. Of course, that something might well be compounding their errors since KT aren't...

Dead or Alive 6 with a different game engine

We have 8 frames of delay on PS4. There's actually somehow more on PS5. It's not a good engine for anything and clipping is an issue resolved through various methods, the least of which being this game's engine.

Dead or Alive 6 with a different game engine

Soft engine is about as real as sega genesis blast processing and people need to start realizing it's just a marketing lie. It doesn't exist, it never existed, please don't perpetuate the lie. It's nothing more than a set of physics values for booba bounce that can applied to any engine capable...

If you were new to fighting games, what approach would you take learning DOA6?

When picking up any new fighting game, first I watch some vids of other people using a character I might like. Then I try to break down exactly what they are getting damage from, and why. Winning in a competitive game you are unfamiliar with is ultimately an exercise in critical thinking. The...

Opinion: Koei Tecmo Continues to Protect the Image of Dead or Alive

I will admit once, I did rat out a modder for trying to sell lazy edits of a Hitomi costume. But that's only because they were super lazy with the costume edits and asking 15 dollars or something for it. Bad mods = get sent to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

Opinion: Koei Tecmo Continues to Protect the Image of Dead or Alive

I dont really see how it matters. If its created by the artist they can do whatever they want with it. And the age old excuse will always legally work. "Can you make me a picture of Batman?" "No, but I can make you a picture of Bat Guy" So, it doesn't really matter what they do, it's going to...

Opinion: Koei Tecmo Continues to Protect the Image of Dead or Alive

If they want to protect their property then that's fine, but it should be done consistently or not at all. This isn't spreading any kind of a message that people in the doujin community will care about because they are going to stop prosecuting immediately after their little show of force, and...

Armor isn't a thing in DOA, but Sabaki's are. Only issue with Sabaki's on this engine is they lose to throws, which is somewhat horseshit and makes the situation a bit too simplified to be considered competitive at an intellectual level.

Fighting games that dictate a non-universal jab speed typically give the slow character a few gimmicks to circumvent the lack of speed. Wolf and Astaroth getting armor is a good example.

TEKKEN 8 Borrows Mechanics from the Dead or Alive Franchise

Tekken has had stage transitions as far back as T6, an exploding wall is a new gimmick for them I think... but not exactly a game changer by any stretch, and I doubt it will be a major part of the gameplay. It will probably just be a single spot in a stage or two and that will be it. The last...

Release 6++ Gameplay Overhaul - Skies Of Vengeance 4.1 hotfix

You tie it to meter and make Raidou the sole character in the game to use meter. Because blackout isn't fair in the slightest, and if it was fair, it wouldn't even be close to fun.

Team NINJA is Planning to Reboot Dead or Alive and NINJA Gaiden

DOA 5 was set to please the western market and you got more sexualization in that game than any previous DOA. DOA 6 was set to please absolutely no one. Every division of KT had a different view of what that game was supposed to be and as a result it did not work.
