  • What games (any genre) did people move to when DOA5(LR or whatever else) got old? Or did you stay with DOA the whole time? I jumped into 2D anime fighters in 2015.
    Got BBTAG since release but barely played it. DOA6 can't come soon enough.

    I was too gullible. Stick BB on the title of a new game and I'm in without thinking. It was also my first tag game and was cheap so why not? Not like I knew about DOA6 at the time...

    Make the clearest statement possible with an explanation, but there’s a hidden meaning. State known facts, but they are disregarded for things that don’t exist. Never made the claim but spin these words and look it was made. Mentioned a myriad of things, but words are cherrypicked to fit view. It really is just a part of DOA in general. The fanservice things people had makes sense now when no other game has it.

    Just stating my experiences and the realization of some similarities. It caught me off guard because it was just so irrational and it went through every method used by people in the breast debate that it got the better of me. Took two interactions but I learned my lesson though. Community is fine.

    Is DOA really that unstable of a game? Remove, add, or change one thing and all of a sudden the entire game is no longer competitive. Pretty sure every other game stayed competitive with their "casual" changes.

    Itz only purpose is to exploit players who either don't understand it or don't want to bother with it...

    I'm not even talking about DoA exclusively.

    SFV, Guilty Gear and Virtua Fighter also have this mechanic and its bullshit in those games too.

    lol These "if" scenarios are still going on when they don't matter because they don't exist in DOA6? "This is DOA6 with no stagger escape and reduced stun" so "Why would your situation still apply or be a problem?". I mentioned auto combos and SE along with the large general system changes through other series but SE is the scapegoat. One of the 3 things people complained about. FT, Autocombo and SE.

    Hints of new content for UNIEST, maybe a new GG soon, and speculations about more content coming to BB. Can everything be revealed this year?
    Just can't get used to Honoka's Burning Soul stance. Of all the moves she can use as a stance, they chose that? It looks a bit goofy.
    Fighting games need to bring back opening cinematic. It was always fun seeing snippets of characters doing their thing

    in older fighting games, (and in older games in general) while pre start screen opening cinematics did show off snippets of characters doing their thing, part of the reason why they were made were for developers to show off what they could do with their graphics engine, but since we live in a time where a game selling itself on it's graphics really isn't a thing anymore, no more opening cinematics for any1 :(
    I never mentioned wanting the removal of any mechanics but if restating what DOA6 already did is considered as me wanting to remove mechanics because all I do is play "versus the bots" then I'm at a loss. Is this how it is when someone who plays FG, but not DOA, learns you play DOA and yours words suddenly lose all value to them?

    It doesn't matter because it's fine. I'm here for for the same reason I join any community. To learn the game and get more content. I'm not here to discuss what if scenarios for things that can't be changed.

    If these kinds of things didn't matter to you, you wouldn't have posted two statuses about it. You clearly want to communicate something, and that's perfectly alright. I mean, it's a forum, not a Q&A session. You can learn about the game and keep up-to-date while also sharing your thoughts, and the community won't be as hostile as you're suggesting for doing so.

    Kinda see how I need to think in the FGC. I can't just learn to play a game for how it is. I must either like SE or want it removed. Anything else means I am just an arcade player from gamefaq. Seems like my approach to learn everything a game offers regardless of my opinion was wrong this entire time. At least the discord between FGs make more sense now. It can only like one or the other.

    I have my own opinion on the FGC... but its not a very good one. :(
    Can't wait to play a DOA game with no stagger escape. The only thing left I would want to add to DOA6 is faster movement like in SC.

    You forgot the rest of what I said. "I don't care enough about your SE debate to take a side. If it's in then it's in if not then it's not. I don't know why I need to pick a side for things that are already set in stone." DOA5 had SE with it's stun system and DOA6 does not have SE with it's stun system. If I hated it in DOA5 what was I going to do? It's already in. It's set regardless of my opinion.

    Eh, the usual ignore nonsense then; swell. I wonder if they realise that you can buttonmash in almost any fighting game and pretty much every modern/popular FG has titties (goes back to making big tittied waifus in SCVI...). However, yeah, DOA5 definitely suffered from DOA's stigma developed from some ill-advised marketing in the West, especially with regards to Dead or Alive: Xtreme Beach Volleyball.

    Yeah I learned how the FGC is. This was back when DOA5 first released and the first time I joined a fighting game community. I grew up with SC so it was weird how people criticized DOA for breasts when SC did the same.

    Going from SC back to DOA made me remember why I like DOA so much. The string delays and cancels make DOA feel more free form.

    It is interesting that the guard button free cancels in DOA & VF, but not in SC (Tekken doesn't even have a block button). However, you can cut off a string in SC by inputting a different attack button (such as the A button cancelling the 3rd hit of a BBB string). You can also "fake" a motion by pressing A, B, or K then G immediately (think Akira's kick cancel in DOA & VF).

    Strings can be cut off but the transition into the next attack doesn't feel as fluid. Do people even use the canceling with G much? I know Mitsu's 66A+B> G is something I like to do and Mina's 1B> G seems like something useful. Besides things like that I never see anyone just canceling their moves with G.
    Can we also get the store exclusive posters Japan is getting for DOA6? Is there no demand for them in the US? Don't remember if DOA5 had any posters besides the print of the game cover.

    There's not enough demand in the US for those types of posters to warrant the increased cost.
    I miss Natsu and the other newcomers from SC5 except for Xiba.
    I need to remember DOA discussion is not possible outside of this place. DOA and logic do not coexist outside of here.
