DOAX3 isn't going to bring more appeal to the game its going to drive away anyone who even thought DOA is trying to be a serious fighter.but the fans have spoken and that's what they want.oh well, just as long as i don't start seeing an NGX -_-
You could very well be right, we will just have to wait & see i suppose. If the fellas are added to DOAX3 then sales for it may one up the previous volleyball games which would be somewhat of a small achievement for this series.

As for DOAX3 driving away anyone thinking DOA is a serious fighter, i respectively disagree. I personally cannot see why DOA Beach Volleyball would drive people away from the DOA fighting games, serious fighter or not. Surely after the Vita release giving players gravure videos & the option of wiggling the women's anatomy around, the damage was done already if that was the concern to begin with. I don't think much harm can come of another beach volleyball game when we're already receiving a glutton of DLC consisting of laced bikinis as thin as carpet string in DoA5. Surely we all know what to expect by now without the threat of DOA3 extreme harnessing the franchises image further. I guess what i am trying to say is if the sex appeal is the concern for some people then the damage was done already with the console DLC & the Vita's extra touches. Just my opinion though

NGX... that's fucking scary lol But I've said it a million times boobs have nothing to do with the FGC shunning DOA. High level Tekken and VF play is a thing of beauty. The animations aren't as smooth as DOA but that's not what makes the matches exciting, it's the actual players.

Here's just two random videos of high level DOA vs Tekken:

In Tekken you see blocking, spacing, punishing... In DOA that's very rare. Basically someone gets the first hit and after that it's rock paper scissors until someone falls down. The game can be very fun to play, but to me it's usually not fun to watch and not worth risking money over.

Wow. Didn't everyone get access to the CE swimsuits like two weeks after the game released? Yet we have to wait freaking months? Hm. Ok. They aren't that great anyway. Hope we get something else before then.

Ok, so we will be waiting twice as long.

Well, honestly my fear was to not see this content also on the console versions (in particular the XBOX), so I'm glad of their presence with no importance about the time (anyway I have to say that after the fate of NG3:RE and the recent declarations of TN, I was really sure of their coming).

All I saw was spacing and punishing in that DOA video. Running away just isn't as easy in DOA because it has less backdash options overall so playing chicken isn't going to happen, epseically with a character that has a vortex.

People don't like watching Tekken or Virtua Fighter though, it's all about the colors and explosions in Marvel.

Things i said

I have always said that DOA is as random as you going to make it. If you gonna stand in each others face and just throw random strikes and hope that it hits then yes there will not be much of calculated damage rather than random damage caused by random strikes. You can also use your yomi and try to read your opponent and beat them without using other advanced stuff like spacing etc. However If you level up your game and start combining spacing and punishing with yomi then there really isn't any more randomness in this game than any other fighting game.

The problem is that other fighting games are forcing you to use the spacing and punishing game because of the lack of the universal counter system which we see in DOA. In DOA people are not scared to get hit by a devastating strike because they can simply counter the next move so people are less scared to get hit in DOA than they are in other fighting games. Due to this lack of fear of getting hit the spacing and punishing game is often neglected even at the top level and people will just take the hit and try to read your next move, see it coming or guess it and then counter it.

So if you ask me top level DOA play has yet to be achieved by more than just a few and i would hereby would like to appeal to the DOA community to start using all this other stuff that is part of the game like spacing, dodging and punishing, wiffing or crushing strikes and not wait and block or counter.

Due to the lack of top level play in Tournaments(not by all) the people that never played this game will also never start playing this game. Many players in tournaments(again not all) seem to stop doing the advanced stuff and just try and use their yomi to fight and i think this is due to nervousness. Because online they do space and punish while offline they stop doing all of that and just try to read there opponent.

Here is a match of mine in which i start spacing and punishing when im down 2 rounds just because before the two rounds i was not trying to space and punish and was just useing my yomi to win the fight. But after i got down two rounds i decided to no longer give my opponent free hits and stuns and started spacing and punishing. You can see the difference in the two play styles very well in this mtch.

how the hell is tekken fun to watch are you kidding me? even the commentators sound so bored, ITS BORING!

once someone gets hop kicked you know the juggle's coming. in doa the tables can turn at any second and no its not rock paper scissors, maybe you play rock paper scissors and thats because you got a low iq bro.

they teach u educated guessing in school, learn it some time. u can easily make educated guesses on what move the opponent is going to do next based on the advantage theyd get from it. i always know when to pre-counter high, especially when the frames are even because i know theyre going to try pp low attack.

anyways dont act like other fighting games dont have guessing either because they do, u always have to guess if someones going to go low, mid or grab, so try getting logically smart kid instead of saying its luck or random

Tekken's fun to watch for me, anyway. Some of the moves look so brutal, and there are those moments where you just go "OH! That did NOT just happen!" then you feel terrible because the guy you were rooting for was doing so well then he choked.
