Will fans likely make DOA7 or not? What about them enhancing DOAD, DOA5, & DOA6 by modding?

Before the next possible DOA game comes out or if DOA will likely go into hiatus, it would seem like it will serve as a wake up call for DOA fans to consider creating a fan made DOA7 if TN doesn’t put it into production. It will take long and will run into different periods of delay due to how busy the fans who develop the fan game are. How do you see this approach? Will it be likely in case that TN doesn’t show signs of announcing a new DOA game?

What about the chances of fans enhancing DOAD, DOA5, & DOA6 into an ideal version? Like DOAD having animated cutscenes with extra content added, more focus for all characters, adding cutscenes from DOA1-4 in all of the chapters, adding costumes from DOA1-4 & DOAXBV, photo mode, adding OG KO for characters, and what should have been put regarding the unused content. As for DOA5, everything from DOA5U and DOA5LR added but with storylines for added characters and costumes we feel should be added as well as exploring the outcome of the tournament per each round. DOA6, I feel like there is a chance that fans will add the tag team mode, expand the storyline, adding DLC costumes and making the hairstyles free, and all I can say is that if they explore what is missing in the game can the original concept of the game be added.

Furthermore DOA fans aren’t giving up just yet as modding the games into enhanced editions and creating fan games is an option that hasn’t been dismissed just yet to keep the torch alive until TN starts to make DOA active again.

What do you foresee the possibilities in your view of what fans will do to create a possible fan made DOA7 and enhanced versions of DOAD, DOA5, & DOA6?

If fans try and make DOA7 or any sort of fanmade fighting game, it will get a cease and desist for copyright no doubt about it. I remember Gatto Tom's DOA6 mods being taken down because he brought Ein back to the game.

That was actually one of MANY reasons. I miss Tom, but I heard he just simply went too far with discovery.

Koei Tecmo's biggest problem with fan made content is that they don't want their characters portrayed outside of their box.

team ninja couldn't bother to sue for 6++

They didn't sue, but they did go on the attack for content creators that played it.

Could it be that Team Ninja has lost interest in DOA6? Is it possible they've already moved on from the project? Perhaps DOA6 has ceased to be a priority for TN.

Well yes. They discontinued the game as far as content, but they still support it and even post the character birthdays each year. DOA isn't dead, people are just extremely impatient when waiting for a new game and instead of playing DOA6 or another awesome installment they opt out to bitch about everything under the sun instead of improving their skill.
