TBF I’ve heard many excuses first it was “KT has no fans” to “DOA isn’t popular” to “nobody knows what DOA is.”

Now that it’s beating virtually every fighting game out there now it’s “it’s a gacha game” and the previous insults and excuses have been dismissed.

There are many fighters that go F2P or are DEEPLY discounted and there are many failed gacha games that are free that do not move the needle.

More people are being exposed to this and playing this, and the haters of it aren’t getting anywhere and giving up.

I mean, this isn't a fighting game though. I guess DOA had to stop being DOA in order to succeed? Because I don't even see this one as a spinoff at this point, I find it hard to consider it a DOA game at all.

As we know, DOA5 and 6 had Core Fighters which was FTP, but that wasn't enough to do what this game has been doing. Maybe if they had added gacha to Core Fighters somehow it would have see similar numbers to this.

they put DOA in front of DOAXVV in order to get a foothold on the market , then they put only new girl. This new girl will got their own fan and the cycle will go on and on.

I think the general opinion is that particular players are not happy an OG character hasn't been released in a long while. Stil think they are doing a great job crafting new Venuses.

Okay that’s a fair assessment, but I disagree to an extent. They flesh out the personalities with character storylines. They all have different personality, different voice actresses and many more things.

I’ll agree that characters can look alike, but that’s not all there is to their character.

IMO her face has a much different complexion and look than Shandy, but once again I’ll accept the argument.

Imo she seems distinct enough, Shandy has a more mature, almost sultry look with how more narrow her eyes are and she seems a touch more soft in the face. It's not a huge difference since only Sayuri, Tamaki, and Monica and Yukino imo have the most distinct features but her design itself isn't bad, I like the fuller lips since it seems more like they're trying to create more realistic, but still attractive venuses

I also find it interesting that Shizuki isn't in the game yet for Steam, but Reika is. Could we possibly be breaking a cycle or are we not getting that character?

I remember Tina being released in DMM and Steam just weeks parts. Wiki says Tina came in before Nanami, Elise, and Kohura on Steam, which is the opposite on DMM. lol

Re: Reila, she is the closest to Mila that we can get, I think, because of her short hair with highlights.

People saying that new Venus Vacation girls are copy/pasted is the funniest thing considering that Misaki and Nagisa have the same face yet almost no one said a thing back then. With regards to Reika, at a glance she looks similar to Kokoro but like DOAN mentioned these characters get fleshed out on their unlockable episodes. The voice actresses do a lot of heavy lifting for sure.

Reika was released earlier since she was supposed to be a global version timed exclusive but after realizing they would put the DMM version in jeopardy, they decided to do a simultaneous release. Shizuku will come at a later date.

Laziness lmao. I think most players would be ok with Venus Vacation being its own thing had all the missing original girls be included in Xtreme 3.

Probably since there originally wasn't going to be an X3 back then, the idea only came up around LR. Back then TN was pondering the idea since they added gravure scenes in 5U as a sort of thing to see if players would pay for it and they did that poll to see who'd make it in, and they got away with that since X3 was meant to be Japanese only anyway so they went based off who they new the Japanese demographic wanted.

It probably would have been different if they also taken more of the west's ideals and votes into account but they likely only had a more fragile budget at the time so they only invested in the girls they knew JP wanted. Venus Vacation is basically what X3 vanilla could have been if they had the massive success and support from the beginning anyway imo
