That I get although imo I think if DOA had had a story structure like Chronicle in Dimensions it could have made more sense of everything. The story itself is easy to understand but I think they focused more on characters who were central to the plot like in DOA4 where you had to actually unlock Helena to get the main finale and gist of the events that took place.I don’t think putting together DOAs story was supposed to be smooth. It required a little bit of research to tie together the winners of each match and I enjoyed that.
The story clearly had development and I could write an essay about that as well, and the cinematic cut scenes are unmatched.
Tekken took 8 games to give us a proper story and graphics that can actually compare to DOA. Don’t agree with me? I don’t fucking care. My eyes don’t deceive me.
I think DOA overall had a better structure story wise since everyone is involved in some way and the devs aren't afraid to have the ninjas or the more central characters fight and win/lose against other characters. Tekken has always since Tekken 6 tried to shoo away the lesser characters like Lili from fighting the Mishimas. I remember that one trailer where Lili was actually holding her own against Jin and fighting him but Bamco is too afraid to have that have officially. They just now started having the lesser characters involved which I think took some push
