Double post because I'm feeling risky.
I was messing around in Training and found some really cool things about Hwang's Auras, namely how you can activate them and gain Lifeforce. First link is my findings on 8wayrun, second should be the video.

As far as I'm aware nobody has found this stuff yet and I picked this up within an hour or two of playing him today (finally got around to playing).

View attachment 32349Hwang has a good inner outfit too. Simple, but the design is interesting and I want something like it in DOA but more fleshed out.

I didn't know SC was at this level already lol.
Those Japanese fans and anime fans got to SC and ruined it!! Lets hope they don't invade DOA and turn it into a fanservice and fetish wear game lmao
You're late tbh, SC has always been sexualized since SC1, especially with create a soul. Those outfits like that amy one are from Lost Swords which was originally a japanese exclusive pay to win and F2P game, and a way to ensure people spent money is to hire hentai or eroge type costume designers to design costumes that had the strongest effects, and they brung them to SC6 as dlc to again guarantee that they'll sell packs if they include a revealing costume in it

The reason SC doesn't get flak for it and basically any game besides doa for that matter is because the sexualization and fanservice isn't the main focus and it's not only exclusive to the girls, SC sexualized all characters and basically made everyone fill a niche so no one cares when SC does it since it's equal. Even with amy and talim, no one really cares because they carry themselves way more mature than their ages would suggest, plus they've always been sexualized, in fact Talim is wearing a thong in SC6 and Amy is showing her front down to her navel but it's nothing new. If they acted how Marie or Honoka did tho they would probably complain but Xianghua and Tira and Pyrrha already cover the childish personalities

Sexualized? Yes. At the level of the outfits in 6? No.

My comment was about you guys and no one else. C'mon, revealing fetish outfits (just look at that armor) and no complaints about Japan and anime ruining the game? No complaints about sexualizing underaged characters but is instead being defended? Remember when it was creepy to sexualize 18yo Marie when all she wore was a normal swimsuit? Remember when maid outfits, "fetish outfits", school uniforms and everything "new" in DOA was the fault of Japan and anime? lol. Look at what is "covering" Amy's nipples. If that same outfit was in DOA, you guys would be going on and on about how Japan and anime ruined DOA, and that it doesn't fit in a fanservice game like DOA.

I have never seen any SC player complain about the fanservice in SC the way you DOA players complain about fanservice in DOA. Imagine someone complaining about fanservice or the fetish outfits in SC the same way you guys do for DOA and how dumb that would look. Trying to distance yourself from fetishes, fanservice, and lolis doesn't help make DOA look any more respectable.

Hey, I'm just going by the "standards" of the DOA community, but I'll always find it funny how you guys consistently do 180s and have exceptions for literally everything.

Just accept it man. You guys play a game that has had them since its inception. And saying the international versions didn't reveal their age doesn't help your case when only 2 females in the entire roster had their ages hidden for multiple games. DOA-DOAD, including all the DOAX games. All those years and no one thought about why only some characters had no age shown? Right... lmao
Officer, I didn't know. See? Her age isn't shown
If they acted how Marie or Honoka did tho they would probably complain but Xianghua and Tira and Pyrrha already cover the childish personalities
I don't know about that. You're comparing them with DOA people who complain about fanservice and magic in their fanservice fantasy game. I'm surprised you guys didn't get your pitchforks and torches for Hwang. They decided to add a Korean who uses magic but no outrage about diversity or being too anime? Not to mention the other DLC characters. There's no "diversity" at all.

Christie's bondage suit is more raunchy than those tbh and doa5lr has had worse. And again like I explained no one cares because that's not the focus of the game, the men can even wear skirts in SC6 but no one complains because it's a custom option, you can actually enable a feature that prevents you seeinf other player's creations and outfirs which is another reason why no one really complains while that isn't possible 6 or even LR unless you download the catalogues.

And again you're making it seem like we're ok and accepting of the sexualiztion... No, we just don't pay attention to that or care, if you like Marie in a raunchy costumes that's on you tbh, idc or am I really concerned with other's interests unless they affect me.

No one cares about Hwang and his magic because SC has always been a fantasy game, it's about two mythical swords with warriors travelling across land in a matter of days and using alchemy, God powers, and unexplained magical elements to fight. And the dlc characters are actually diverse, 2B is self explanatory, Amy has her rose abilities and fought against a mythical clans men, Cassandra uses God power in her weaponry and Setsuka uses basically ninpo and dark arts xD

You're making really weird generalizations and it's starting to irritate me since you sound like you're trying any reason to argue or make it seem like doa players are being hypocrites even though we have explained the thinfs you're talking about multiple times, you're just once again being dissmisive and trying to make it seem like we're happily accepting things even tho doa6 is a Japanese developed game, Japanese games will always manage to embed their own niches and fetishes in a game no matter the region or audience

You seem to have a lot of opinions about us @human013. This isn’t the first time you’re trying to throw out these passive aggressive insults at the members on this forum. You’re doing this quite often, which leads to irritation from me and other members. It’s like you’re constantly trying to fish for an argument and then play it off as “I’m just giving my opinion”. Members have already explained their opinions in various posts, which you constantly dismiss and then you start all over again with being passive aggressive. I could go over your talking points, but doing that is just a waste of time and energy, since it’s only going into circles with you.

At this point you should just shut the fuck up tbh. You’re getting on people’s nerves and it seems that’s your only goal while being on this forum. You continue to wallow yourself in self entitlement and passive aggressive bullshit. Please for the love of god, just leave this forum.

To be blunt, Dead or Alive has Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball, SoulCalibur doesn't. Though to put things in perspective, SoulCalibur's popularity dropped sharply after SCII, from SCIII onwards which introduced CaS mode (and less favourable mechanical gameplay...). Basically SoulCalibur isn't exactly anywhere near Tekken's level of popularity, but it was a lot closer with SCII (if not on par).

human013 out here thinking that everyone in the community is a collective hivemind and that different voices in the community can't have different opinions about things.

I can't tell if his imagined crusade against the DOA community is more funny or sad. Probably the latter, but the former certainly makes a compelling case.

I'm just playing the mindgames you guys play here man. Y'know, to get the feel for this place? So I can know what is acceptable and what is not lol.

DOA5lr had costumes even worse than the nipple "covering" Amy has? What outfit was that? And what are these outfits that are worse? Can you show me these costumes? Or is this going to be another instance where a DOA person makes a claim and moves the goalpost when asked for evidence? So Christie has a raunchier bondage outfit (I looked and it is nowhere near as fanservice-y as what Amy is wearing) than those in SC but you guys are complaining about fetish wear in DOA...o_O Are we ok with fanservice and fetish outfits or not???o_Oo_Oo_O

And again you're making it seem like we're ok and accepting of the sexualiztion... No, we just don't pay attention to that or care, if you like Marie in a raunchy costumes that's on you tbh, idc or am I really concerned with other's interests unless they affect me.
Just look at the reactions to the two. It's pretty telling what is accepted and what is not. One day the mere thought of an underaged character, who actually is not, existing is considered the worst thing possible and is the fault of Japan and anime, but the next day it is fine for another character to have those exact same traits or even more.o_Oo_Oo_O The reactions for Marie are vastly different from Amy and Talim. I remember people's reaction to Marie and her looks alone made people go crazy.

lol, get a sign that says "sexualizing Marie is creepy because of her body type and "age"", the big things that made Marie bad. Now look at Amy and Talim. Are you and the people here still raising that sign and complaining about them like you do for Marie?

If yes, then Amy and Talim are bad. Remember, anime and loli are bad.
If no, then the "outrage" over Marie is nonsense.

o_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_O This is the thing that gets me LMAO
  • Sci-fi technology to clone humans, teleporting, and shooting energy blasts while demons pop out from other realms are totally not fantasy.
  • He is a Korean (not the only one) and the other DLC characters do not fit what qualifies as "diversity" here but not a squeak about SC needing to be more diverse? But when DOA adds a Japanese, Swedish, and Finnish character, you guys all go into a frenzy saying DOA as too many Japanese characters or that those countries don't count lol.
  • So now it moved from race, ethnicity, and nationality to gameplay? lol You guys all lost you minds when Nico used lightning and teleported so what are you even talking about? There is no diversity in gameplay for the new characters in DOA? Is this something I'm suppose to believe?o_Oo_Oo_O

Again, I'm just playing the mindgames you guys are playing, like generalizing. You guys love to blame the DLC, outfits, and fetishes on Japan and anime but look at the people here excited for them every time. You guys constantly blame them for DOAX too but look at the DOAX thread here.

Hey, I'm irritated too. I can't stand the constant circlejerk and ass kissing. How do you guys do it so often? You would think that the people and game that are the laughingstock of the FGC would be able to think differently from the people who mock them but that isn't the case lmao.
  • I ignored the "Nico is a copy of Rem" for months because its just another case of DOA people being DOA people. But when I actually placed them side by side the guy goes, "Uhhh.. well... umm... actually.....".
  • Then the "too many Japanese/ 18yo Japanese characters" turns into the same thing with them stumbling when all the characters are actually laid out.
The recent GBVS discussion was a perfect example of the thing I can't stand here, and I guess that is why the FGC does the same to DOA too. General vague statements with goalpost moving when pressed for specifics.

Lets compare how people treat DOA. DOA is bad because it's just a "titty fighter" turns into DOA is bad because it is a "button mashing game" then into a "guessing game" when pressed for specifics. Where have I seen this before? This constant goalpost moving when actual details are asked.

It's just really funny seeing DOA of all games play this mindgame like it will help the game in any way. Other games doing it to DOA makes sense, but DOA doing it to itself when most of the "critisims" aren't even true? Everyone might as well believe what the FGC says about DOA at this point if actual DOA players are also making up stuff about DOA. What happened to actually looking at the game and pointing out the facts like what you guys did for everything else related to DOA??o_Oo_Oo_O lmao

Sometimes when people mock me for saying something silly, I reply "J/K lol it was only a joke; Y so serious?"
Then all the criticisms melt away cause I'm just too cool for school, baby.

The "feel [of] this place" is that continuously shitposting deliberately contentious delirium is both dumb and depressing, and while we'd prefer you to stop, it is acceptable to mock you for it until you do. Whatever profound rabbithole you allude to be tumbling down is purely a collection of superficial observations and projections that everyone else figured out for themselves ages ago and moved beyond.

Sigh, the DOA special. More claims that, when pressed, results in some reason to dodge having to show proof. At this point why even look at the games when we can just make everything up. Then when called out, we can just move to another point. Might as well go ask a tekken player about DOA. Their criticisms for DOA are true at least.

Put on your preacher voice for this. I pray that one day I'll be able to believe things said here without thought. Or, that one day when a DOA player makes a claim, he can just point to the thing he is talking about with no issue. When he says a game lacks content he can just point out what's missing with no issue. Etc, Etc, Etc. Hallelujah? lmao.

This x1000. This thread has been hijacked enough.

I'm happy for SoulCalibur but will set the record straight that it is basically a very slight tier above DOA. Which at the moment is mostly a case of SCVI being seen as slightly more favourable than DOA6 (last generation DOA5 > SCV). Using SC as an example of "sexualization" being acceptable over DOA doesn't hold as much weight because SC isn't exactly highly popular in the general FGC and a lot of the "OG FG players" moved on from SC after SCII. The CaS mode in SCVI definitely has turned off a lot of "competitive" players for instance. As someone that has played from both DOA2 & SCII, both franchises are incredibly niche.

A shame though because both games used to be really great.
