Seriously, stable 30fps are fine. The game plays just fine on PS4/PS4 Pro. The vast majority of games I play are 30fps and if they are stable not for a moment do I ever wish for or think about 60fps. Of course there are a couple of genres where 60fps is key, like fighting or racing games.

There are even really stupid/seemingly random omssions like there being no snow deformation for some reason on PC:

I mean 30fps shouldn't need to be a thing on PC (also the in game 30fps option actually plays at an unstable 29fps lol)

Of course there should be more than 30fps possible on PC (and there surely is?). I assume chaos was talking about being stuck with 30fps on consoles. 30fps on PS4 and Pro plays and feels however fine. I never even spared it a thought.

I hear the developers are looking into the matters to fix Horizon on Steam.

Compared to FF15, Dissidia NT etc. where those games were just abandoned on any future fixes.

30fps is a standard framerate in video games, I don't recall 12fps ever being a standard in movies.

Speaking about framerates. There is something about DOA6 on the next generation consoles that I have been wondering about:

DOA6 offers two modes on all consoles: A performance mode and a graphics mode. On PS4 Pro the game runs in performance mode at stable 60fps and in 1080p image resolution, in the graphics mode it runs at (mostly) stable 60fps and also in 1080p resolution (with very minor graphics improvements). On Xbox One X the performance mode runs at stable 60fps and in 1080p resolution and in the graphics mode -now it gets interesting- it runs at an unlocked framerate in the 30fps-40fps range and in a resolution of native 4K.
This probably means that only the Xbox version of DOA6 is future-proof for next gen consoles even without a patch by Team Ninja. And I highly doubt they will patch the game again. Because the framerate is unlocked on Xbox in performance mode it will easily be able to reach 60fps on Xbox Series X and it will additionally run at 4K.
Sucks for PS5 owners and their copy of DOA6. The game will without a patch continue to run in both modes at 60fps and in 1080p.

That's assuming DOA6 will even work on PS5, it's more likely stuff like SFV and T7 will be playable BC on PS5.

But does seem Series X will be the console to go for DOA6 next gen though, even if PC is still infinitely better.

Many seem to have misunderstood what Mark Cerny said about backwards compatibility on PS5. The "overwhelming majority" of PS4 games runs on PS5 already without any problems. There can however always be a game that doesn't properly run, so they are covering all their bases and are at the moment testing all the games one by one and they started with the top 100 most popular games on PS4. They will expand that testing further down the popularity levels. You can be to 99% sure DOA6 will run on PS5 day one.

Obviously, they're going to add to that via updates afterwards but I really would not expect PS5 to play everything in November.

Well.....I'll be honest, if the gameplay is fantastic then 30fps is tolerable. I can sit back and have a good time playing games like Ghost Recon, Uncharted 4, The Division 2, Batman Arkham Knight, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Shadow of the TR and more but its trash LOL.


Higher input delay, choopy animations, harder to aim on shooting games and ghost effects. That's why I never bother completing Killzone 2 after playing COD a while back.

Not interested AT ALL tbh. Doesn't look appealing to me... like, it looks nothing special? Pretty standard thing for this generation. In fact I think it looks like a game that could've come out early in this gen. BUT! I've read this is just a pre-alpha so hopefully it will end up looking more interesting as the development progresses. And this is just in graphics since this is the graphics thread after all, but gameplay-wise it also doesn't appeal much to me rn. Reminds me of the upcoming Avengers game, game that I also have a pretty big lack of interest in.

I think the game looks beautiful, it’s not a standout like Ghost of Tsushima, but I don’t think it looks bad. The game seems interesting, so I’m interested in the final product. Can’t wait to play my daddy Red Hood
