Almost no new moves for Mai, everything down to DLC costumes are rehashed. Kula's animations are absolute garbage, and all the costumes are rehashes of the current DLC packs, and the thing the DOA series needed most was another pseudo pedophile character to fap to.

If you wanted to add characters from a dead fighting game they could have just kept the VF characters. Or you know ones from Ninja Gaiden. or all the ones from DOA.

How the hell does a game go from wanting to tone down sex appeal to having budget titty chunli and Marie rose #4? There could have been no way they should have been spouting this shit with the content they had in the pipeline.

Girl, those things were really uncalled for like, wow lmao... why so salty just because they added KOF characters? Yes, having Mai back again instead of a new choice and Kula as the new character instead of adding a male to complement Mai was a mistake, but going as far as to call them "budget chunli" and "marie rose #4" sounds salty af. For starters, Marie Rose WISHES she was half as good in both character-wise and gameplay-wise as Kula lmao, and Mai herself is an icon just like Chun-Li, so calling her a "budget" version is just so funny. And it was also not necessary to call KOF a "dead fighting game" when DOA6 is not in a better shape rn, so...

Initial thoughts for kula(I won't discuss mai since she was in doa5lr)

  • I'm actually very interested that she mentions the "NESTS" saga to NiCo who actually seems like she would really fit in during that kof era
  • First combo i've seen is her standard bnb from cl.c f+a ex breath, light rayspin x slide into dp. So it seems like they're going the geese route a la tekken 7
  • her grabs seem really clunky especially since they're super animations without the super feel
  • Actually most of her attacks from what we've seen feel clunky
  • I saw j.c from kula so i'm wondering if she's going to have stuff like j.cd(probably not)

I doubt she's using an EX to freeze though. Based on previous experience, TN turns a some meter powered moves (including DMs) into regular moves when porting to DOA.

I'm not a KOF player, but Mai and Kula bring something fresh to the game. So why not. Not as good as Leon, but still.

The costumes are disappointing. Even recolors would have been better...

Oh wow! Wasn't expecting to wake up to Mai and Kula being revealed! :D Mai again like in doa5 looks great so that's no surprise but wow I actually really like the look of Kula and her fighting style, She looks really cool..*cough*pun intended*cough*

Glad to see them finally revealed after all this time. :)

Was it really a leak when everyone already put two and two together? We knew it was going to be Kula for many months.

I noticed the hair being pretty polygon starved though. There are noticable angles in the strands where they they bend. Well, I guess they had to economize a little with such long and thick hair. Kula has like three times the hair on her head than regular DOA women and like 5 times as much as "balding queen" Kasumi. XD
