Official DOA6 Costume Thread

yeah just did again on a higher difficulty (hard) and got 5. If you could AT LEAST target a costume you want then.... it'd still suck but at least it wouldnt be months of grinding to get it

It’s already impossible with the 10x bonus. If you do the math you’d have to around 5500 ranked matches before March 14th.

Either they designed this with their buttholes or there are microtransactions imminent to speed it up.

DOA Quest is really fun so far so I dont have problems with random rewards since I was going to open everything anyway ...
But damn I am sooo pissed about Season Pass ... In my PSStore the DELUXE edition of the game is cheaper then the season pass fucking crazy lol

i mean... doa quest doesnt give enough to unlock everything to begin with (not even close) not to mention that since its random you lose parts everytime you complete a mission that gives say 300 parts but it uses it for a costume that only costs 200.

and for those that may have been curious... nothing from survival.

This system makes no sense because after you eventually unlock all of the on disc costumes, what purpose does it serve?
Unless they plan on allowing people to be able to unlock dlc outfits this way (which cant be the case since there's been no mention of that and it'd be a terrible idea to sell season passes without telling consumers they can get those costumes potentially for free through grinding) it seems like it was a halfassed idea they had to copy street fighter Vs approach to dlc but later decided not to do but it was too late to remove from the game since it was already completed.

I am 100% guaranteeing you there will be a "Wardrobe Unlock Key" in the near future. Master has been silent on it, TN hasn't said anything. I will bet you 10 bucks on PSN they are going to try and sell an easy unlock.

And this, pisses me off more than anything.

Alienating fans... for goodness sake, play DOA Quest, that's where you get most of the pieces from in the first place!

Come on this is getting ridiculous people. I understand the frustration of random costume pieces but it's like saying Tekken is alienating fans by making you get the costumes from Treasure Battle and only Treasure Battle, which need I remind you, is also completely random.

read my previous post and it tells you why doa quest is not good enough.

as for tekken, the system isn't good there either but you
A) at least get some stuff to start with
B) can buy some items you want
C) dont need to grind parts endlessly. What happens when you finish all the doa quest missions and still havent gotten costumes for your character?

That would at least alleviate SOME of it.

Hopefully they do because even with the 104 missions in now, its still only enough to fully unlock like.. 3-5 characters depending on how many parts get wasted on the randomness

Sure sweetie...

No you really don't, you barely get the bare minimum to work with at all for your customization duties

B) can buy some items you want
That takes just as much grinding to do so as it does here, especially if you want a Bikini costume

C) dont need to grind parts endlessly. What happens when you finish all the doa quest missions and still havent gotten costumes for your character?
Instead you have to grind Gold endlessly by playing everything else to a massive extent... there's legit no difference at all.

Sometimes when I clear the DOA Quests it doesn't tell me who the costume part rewards are being applied to. I really hope they are going to someone and this isn't a bug.

Sorry but playing a couple days max is not endless grinding. (also do bear in mind, I said that tekkens system is not good either. But doa is higher on the BS meter)

Now as for this game, assuming you get unlucky with doa quest and you dont get what you want you now have to grind at the pace of 5-20 parts per match. Thats an average of ~13.

Lets say you want a costume that costs 750. Thats 50-60 matches/arcades etc. But only if every part was being applied to that one costume.
Theres still tons left over after completing DOA quest so it can potentially run into thousands of matches, all for a dumb costume.

I hope this explains my side without being too venomous.

You get costumes too fast = People will complain there is no content

you get costumes too slow = theres too much grinding omg, why did they make it like this

You can't win lol
I'm not against grinding but 30 a match at maximum is not enough when we have outfits that cost 1000+ to unlock and the parts are distributed randomly. It's a shitty system lmao They could have put big chunks of character specific parts in with the titles as incentive to complete the collection of them and give us another avenue for pursuing parts. They could have tied some to encyclopedia entries to give you a reason to learn the lore of DOA. They could have done so many creative things, and instead they're using it to pad game time for whatever reason.

Grinding ain't the problem, it just sucks when the grinding is completely random.
