DOA6 Gameplay Thread

I'm a bit upset, but i'm not sure. Master is still telling people to wait until the game drops until we provide our opinions. So I'm going to wait and see if there's more to it before going on a full rant. Could just be something we don't know.
Translation: Buy the game first before you decide we fucked up the wall game, even though you can clearly see it here.

Hopefully its not an older build.
It shouldn't be, I know for certain(or at least I'm positive...) that it'll be the build the DOATEC account been posting up. I don't think they'd hold us back by making us use an older build with none of the new found mechanics and such. I'm hoping will characters will be in tho since we haven't seen barely any Nico, lisa, or Kokoro additions tbh

I’m really hoping for the most up to date build too, with a good variety of characters. I also want to add a training mode option to my wishlist for the demo/beta.

This will also most likely be our first test of the netcode. I’m really hoping it’ll be on the level of Soul Calibur 6 or even Tekken 7. This game really needs a healthy netcode for longevity imo.

I'm ready xD the day it drops im calling out of work so I can spend that day testing stuff for Kasumi out, I also wanna see what happens if you do a fatal sit down stun when near a wall to make it wallsplat. Like will that wall splat stun mean guaranteed damage unless your opponent has meter?

Not a fan, the less guessing the better, that was the whole point of utilizing the environment and now it looks like you will be rewarded with more guessing for making the right plays.

Yeah, because no competitive player wants to play DoA4. I was looking forward to playing doa6 competitively, but now im not so sure myself

I never played doa4, but I played a ton of doad which had the same wall game. The only difference was that the char I played, Genra, rarely had to interact with it since he could just blast people with lightning across the map.

I do still think the this is TN way of trying to give certain characters better options after wall splats, because not everyone had Eliot's or Marie roses combo potential off a wallsplat or Hayate's oki. However they are going about this wrong.

I just personally think the opponent shouldn't be able to defensive hold. They wanna break hold, that's fine since you can always bait them to waste their meter and it costs meter, but to be able to normally hold out of it imo is a bit much. They should change the wall splat to something similar to how a fatal sit down works and only break holds can get around it

Yeah, this has to go unless you can do a Fatal Combo or some bullshit and it completely negates the Wall Hold but even then...

I'm wondering if fatal rush is the reason they allowed holds again. It seems like they wanted to allow the use of break hold off the wall bounce but ran into the problem of an unholdable wall bounce and fatal rush combo. Then again you could just make it that fatal rush just slams them into the wall on the first hit.

Blahh who knows.

I imagine it will be ninja's and probably 1 non ninja lol. would be cool if the demo was one of each type. 1 striker, 1 grappler and of course the obligatory ninja lol.

Edit:

I'm taking a wild guess here and its probably nothing like this at all, but I'm hoping it is. That wall is breakable, which follows into the standard unholdable situation like in DoA5. I get that Manny is limited on what he can say and all, but I'm wondering if him saying wait and see is because the in this specific scenario since the wall is breakable they allow you to hold. So my hope is that on standard walls the bounce is still unholdable.
