Depends on the situation
Most the times you'll have to just block a meat hard knockdown but you can still wiggle your way out.
Eg you can try low poking out of Error Black in the corner since he has no good mids.
Another example is Milena, just roll out since it low profiles a lot of shit. But once your opponent catches on, they can punish you.

honestly not sure if it works the same in X, but back in MK9 I found the roll to be better used AS a punish.

I just found out you need health to actually armor through something... thats why I'm so upset.

The situation I'm whining about is getting knocked down in the corner with 1 HP left...
I heard Milenna is one of the few characters in this game that has a legitimate Invincible EX Move.
So it depends on if its invincible on frame one.

Well if you have 1hp left and you're being hit you're SOL anyway.

The only thing you're going to do by blocking in the corner to your death is giving your opponent meter....just try one of the things I mentioned.

Only in NRN Games... even Killer Instinct has meterless methods of escaping near guaranteed defeat.
Yeah saw this happen literally every single MKX Tournament... I was hoping SonicFox was merely Godlike with his Oki... and he is.... but MKX really fucks you over in 1 HP Situations.... actually if your health is at 25% and you got no meter your as good as dead.
Screw it... I Quit. I shall console myself with some DoA Wake Up Kicks.

I do that literally everywhere else... And it works everywhere else... the problem with MK is you get punished for Blocking Correctly... you evre get punished for Teching Throws. And Back dashing...
Look I got nothing against Slug Fests but this is the worst way to go about it.

In DoA you can Kick them Back... thats better than Having Acid or Caltrops poured over your defensless corpse.... lol the developers even have an achievement for killing with Caltrops.
I just Block and hope for the best... just got the game... Haven't found anyone I like yet.... except for Liu Kang.... but dat execution is a colossal pain in the ass.

It was criminal lol that they added Tanya in MKX while excluding Jade despite those two always being main rivals in the previous games. I'd love to see them both make it into this game, And sure Ashrah too. There's actually a couple of ps2 era MK characters I'd be happy to see added, Li Mei comes to mind.
Nah I'm a big Jade fan, too. I like Kitana over all of girls (& have always played her before her too) , but her Jade & Mileena are my favorite girls within the series. From what I'm hearing, she has a good chance of making it this time, but you all know how I feel about rumors & beating around the bush about stuff. If it's not confirmed then it's just a rumor to me. I plan on trying her out this time around though. She'll be one of the 1st ones that I try. This is a list of my favorites I hope make it:

Kitana was my fav for forever. Then Jacqui Briggs came out and I never looked back. I hope she makes it in MK11 along with Jade. And im willing to bet Jade will be important considering she was in Kitana's ending in MKX reaching out to her
