Too lateI wouldn't even play DOA if they took the men out. I hope they never reskin any of the men and turn them into women like Tekken did.

Wait, Hitomi was after Ein?Too late
Lmao, i forgot all about them. But they get a pass because Hitomi and Nyo are pretty decent characters.Too late

Im pretty sure my favorite characters besides Akira and Jacky aren't going anywhere. I came to DOA for JL and Rig.As long as my favorite characters are not removed, then I'd continue playing if that did happen. I'm still in dilemma that Naotora will likely not return in DOA6, but if Kasumi were ever removed.....you don't want me to go there, TN already pissed me off with Hayabusa slapping her like a bitch and then Hayatwat and Ayane murdering her clone...I legit thought she DIED. >_< ....Kasumi is the reason I fight, the reason I came to DOA, but TN wanted to play me like Arcade on Legend difficulty.
So what if they did replace all the men with new girls and they were all good, likeable characters?
Honestly, I think if TN felt that they can get away with getting rid of the guys, they would, I'm sure one reason they can use is that they can sell way more dlc costumes.
Too late
Except they wouldn't be able to get away with it... at all.
Again despite the contrary, Ryu basically has DOA as a second home, trying to replace him with a female version is just freaking stupid beyond all belief. I would actually LIKE a Female Ninja at the same level as Ryu...but @Brute would probably kill me just for saying that, even if she won't ultimately replace Ryu and becomes a character all on her own.
And a good chunk of male characters have their own fanbases on top of that. Getting rid of them for female replacements is just not smart at all and that would only work if the males was completely unpopular. Honestly gotta stop listening to Stream Monsters lol.
You mean like Team Ninja? Most ignorant people just assume DOA is for the girls and only the girls.
Do you REALLY need to know how quick the fanbase will die if they pulled that kind of stunt?what if TN believed that they can get away with cutting out the male characters and replacing them with new girls?
Including TN/KT, unfortunatelyLeon, Ein there are ALOT more popular males than people give it credit for. Most ignorant people just assume DOA is for the girls and only the girls.
I wasn't even gonna get 5 since they excluded Leon but I saw Mila got his mount tackle so I figured she was the new version of him and made do.I wouldn't even play DOA if they took the men out. I hope they never reskin any of the men and turn them into women like Tekken did.
Wait, Hitomi was after Ein?
And well, the Tengu was dead, so that is a nice way to bring his moveset back. (and what a NICE way)

Btw, im pretty sure that TN will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever get rid of JL, Rig, or Kasumi so we dont have to worry about them.
Unfortunately, im kinda worried about Leon.
Uncle_T said he wouldn't want TN to replace male characters with female ones and I gave two instances where they did. Hitomi's not a true replacement because they kept putting Ein in games anyway (was 5 vanilla the only game after her addition he hasn't been in? I forget) but Nyo has 100% replaced Tengu. I think they did a good job with her and keeping the moveset authentic while expanding on it but the truth is they replaced Banko with a character that would sell better because T&AIf you want to go by that logic...Bass is a male version of Tina, Leon is another male copy of Bayman and Eliot is a younger version of Gen Fu.
But unlike Tekken...I can atleast say TN still makes the "copies" a new style than who they rip from.
Hitomi can hold certain attacks of hers to make her a little less predictable, Bass...well, I hope @Mr.Wah can clarify the difference between him and Tina. Bayman and Leon has become 2 different characters at this point and Nyotengu can go into a hover state. Not sure about Eliot and Gen Fu but they should be very different too.
Hitomi was intended to be the main karate fighter for the series DoA 3 forward to replace Ein since the persona became irrelevant in the story after his debut.
Ein came back because Hayate also debuted in DoA 3 so Ein was relatively cheap to keep throwing back in as a constant bonus character since they can recycle both Hayate and Hitomi to save dev time/cost on the character.
Nyotengu was a blatant replacement since you know the old Tengu was BTFO.
I can see more slow, but steady transition of male characters being written off the story [killed off, retired, dissapeared, etc] to replace with new generation female counterparts. Think SCV, but with more titties.
Ein was in DOA2 in 1999, Hitomi was DOA3 in 2001
I wouldn't worry, Popularity doesn't necessarily mean they're the new mascot. I can name a alot of games with characters more popular than the mascot/protagonist but they don't automatically replace them. Kasumi has and will always be the face/mascot of DOA, Marie is just more popular is all.
