Hah, not just the PR team is the worst... XD
They don't even seem to be able to just announce the date of a patch/update that the game really needs and that they promised and that they very well know a large part of their customers are more than just anxiously waiting for. But I'm the troll here of course. ;) So I'm going to quickly shut my troll mouth since that's not welcome here...

The worst thing he lost was Slash Elbow since it was a good way to close in on an opponent, and even that has its weaknesses.

He didn't lose much of anything important.

it seems like they buffed it and made it his V-trigger.

an interesting thing to note is that they way it was described is that it might now be a single move per say. the forums were saying that it sounds more like he gets put into a state from which he can throw out the guard break.

Not sure why you're surprised DDT wasn't very used. if the Stun Gun can now do the same thing anyhow then it doesn't really matter.
DDT was actually one of my bread and butter moves :( I loved it, great for punishing or just scaring people lol.

Apparently stun gun is a mini version. Just a leaping regular headbutt, from what I'm told?

What the FUCK he lost that too?!

What next, he lost the knee lift and suplex and choke holds too?

Goddamn I hate being right but it sounds like Alex really did get ROYALLY fucked over in V

This. DDT was pretty situational in high level play, and even in those situations, there were better answers.

And nobody every sued Stun Gun because Boomerang Raid was his preferred Super Art.

It's the exact same people behind Tekken Crash.

That's a pretty pointless thing to say considering that he hasn't been publicly playable yet and we don't actually know how he stacks up in the tier list.
Yeah i know but Tekken crash has had a longer legacy and longer run.

That's not a reason to remove it though.
Sgh was my preferred super for the utility and raw damage, though meter sucked.

And DDT may have been situation but its still another very good tool, so again, no reason to lose it.

Most of the appeal of Alex for me was how he had a different grapple for evetyconcievable situation

Alex's Special Moves

Flash Chop: Alex performs a splendid chop. After the Heavy version, it's possible to combo into his throw attack "Power Drop".

Air Knee Smash: A very strong special move where Alex jumps up into the air with a flying knee. If he hits his opponent, he grabs his opponent and drops them down.

Power Bomb: A move where Alex grabs his opponent and slams them into the ground. It's very powerful, so let's make good use of this whenever it's an up-close fight.

Head Crush: Alex does a small jump to close distance, then grabs his opponent and delivers a hearty headbutt! This move delivers extremely high stun to the opponent!

Ew. Don't like those changes.

So he no longer has his dashing elbow. Why the fuck not?

His flash chop sounds the same but I'm getting the feeling it won't back turn people anymore?

His air knee sounds like the same in practice but a modified animation (no longer lands knee first on them)

Power bomb - looks like a different animation. Here's hoping it still works as a suplex on back facing opponents.

Headbutt....idont like that little hop before it. Hopefully there's a version where he just reaches out without grabbing like in third strike. That's what made it so effective. Could just literally GRAB people out of their approach/attack. Also want to know if its still a chokehold to back facing opps.

So he lost his dashing elbow, DDT, and his headbutt has been modified with slow startup due to the hop.

Yeah this...doesn't sound very promising. Im sure players will make him work but I just don't think he will feel like ALEX anymore.

His old headbut was different from his stun gun. if it's still in there it wouldn't be listed with his other special moves and just be a command normal which we have no clue about. His head stop might even be a command normal as well and just work as a standard overhead.

They never called it a suplex so it's most likley the power drop mentioned. From the sound of it it doesn't seem tied to heavy flash chop either otherwise they would say WILL cause a power drop and not CAN be combo into it.

The air knee looks normal so I don't know what you're talking about.

Choke is never coming back since rapidly pressing buttons to escape a throw won't and DDT seems effectively pointless if stun gun effectively does its job but better.

his slash elbow seems to be retooled to be his V-trigger in effect but not animation.

Various game bugs have been fixed, along with minor gameplay balancing. For more details please see the previous post.

The second drop will take place on March 30 (WED) at 10AM PT and contains the following content:
Alex + related character story content
In-Game Shop
Fight Money Expenditure: Spend your hard earned Fight Money to purchase extra game content, such as DLC characters (100,000 FM each) and the Story Mode Costumes (40,000 FM each).

One feature that will not be making it into the March update will be the Zenny (real money) functionality of the in-game shop. We have taken a long hard look at this part of the store, and after much review, have decided it is not ready to launch just yet. As Zenny is purchased with real money, we wanted to be extra careful and make sure it’s fully tested and optimized before launching it. There is currently no ETA on the Zenny store and we will release it as soon as it’s ready.

We realize that this causes an inconvenience to fans who want to purchase the DLC characters, such as Alex, but do not have enough Fight Money or own the Season Pass. To address this, we will be making Alex available for free as a trial period to all players, until the Zenny shop launches. This also will apply to any future DLC character that releases prior to the Zenny shop launching. Once the Zenny shop launches, the free trial for any DLC characters that released prior to the Zenny shop opening will end, and players will need to either use Fight Money, Zenny, or the Season Pass to access those characters.

Any DLC character related content (such as costumes) that is purchased with Fight Money during the trial period will remain in your account once the trial period ends, but you’ll need to purchase Alex to use that content. The same goes for colors and character progress, etc. that are earned during the trial period; everything will be saved, you’ll just need to purchase the character to resume your progress once the trial period ends.

As a special bonus to our Season Pass users, they will be the only ones who will be able to access the premium costumes of the DLC characters until the Zenny shop launches, and they also get to keep character access once the free trial period ends. Additionally, we will be giving all Season Pass users a free, brand new stage in the near future!

Finally, as a way of saying thanks for everyone’s patience and understanding throughout the beta phases and game launch we will be making Ryu and Chun-Li’s story mode costumes available for free to all users on March 30 as well. This is an 80,000 Fight Money value, almost the full value of a DLC character.
Thank you for continuing to support Street Fighter V and we promise that the game will continue to improve from here on out. More new updates, fixes and support for other pressing issues like rage quitters are in the works and we hope to have more information to share soon.

Until next time!"
