Excellent breakdown of this very fun character, if mostly due to her gimmicky mix ups. I think what most people will have trouble adapting do is her range and lack of options in the stances that she's given. There will be times I have to remember at in certain stances, she cannot do all of the follow ups that the originators can do. Not to mention, most of the moves that are given to her are either slightly better (the Bear Hug) or mostly inferior (236P). Still, she's a very fun character and it actually feels good to win with her, since Honoka is a basically the embodiment of what DOA is about: yomi and mix ups.

Like @Tenryuga said 46p can leave you at frame advantage up to +5...Also 3h+k has a weird hitbox where it gives you -4 and -3 at the same distance >____>

3H+K is a good whiff punisher, it's also extremely reliable considering all her other options. I've also found some set ups that utilize her 236P+K I can post them here if you would like. I can also post some of her max damage combo(all weight classes).Ive done alot of researcher with her and she isn't all that bad you just cant mash buttons :c

Please tell me all about it. I need to train Honoka a little more since I'm attending a tournament next Sunday.

This character is fucking great. Do not overlook her just for her design. She can be a very serious threat to any member of the cast.

Honoka has her issues but she is very good. She has strong spacing and a great walk speed. She should not be overlooked at all.

Can a character that struggles against spacing due to short limb really have strong spacing? Honestly I don't think that's possible but that's just me

She has like.... the best korean back dash in the game. She creates gaps really fast.

She does have the best Korean back dash. It makes it so you don't have to deal with wake up kicks and the sort. It takes her like 2seconds to get out of mix up using it lol xD

But wouldn't you not want that since you have no range. What if the opponent doesn't do a wakeup attack and you KBD, you are only helping them create more distance to space you out unfortunately. Just trying to understand you guys logic is all. =[
