Okay, I finally got the game (PS4 version) and was already binge costume unlocking. XD
Now, that I had a close look at the game myself, I can scatter some obscurities regarding the graphical update:
The AA is definitely improved! It's not just the higher resolution. That's great, I won't get anymore headaches in the Forest stage or Lost World.
The game is a lot brighter than DOA5U and the colors are more saturated. The subsurface scattering looks really good on the girls' skin...on the guys however it imho sometimes looks a little too soft and waxy. Overall the game looks again a little more Anime-like. The self-shadowing was also improved, it's a lot cleaner, less pixelated and more consistent in contrast. In DOA it was sometimes really dark (Helena's victory pose, where she raises her hand to her face) or to faint. The new particle effects look really impressive and dynamic. The textures however are the exact same as before. Because of the clearer image the pixelation is even more apparent. Come on, Team Ninja, I'm sure, you do have the original textures archived and could have easily swapped them on the current generation versions of Last Round. :/ Another thing that really bothers me and that is even a step backwards graphically: Floor textures blur a few feet away from the Characters in the background, which they did not in DOA5/DOA5U. How can it be, that the graphically more advanced and capable version of DOA5 doesn't feature anisotropric filtering anymore? So, the floor textures are actually even worse than before. Team Ninja, you are killing me! XD
