I have to agree with you Cow ! I loved Marie Rose, because she was new and interesting and different to the other characters, but it's like TN doesn't even try anymore! I feel sometimes the people behind the scenes aren't as talented as the team, when Itagaki was in charge or they are being manipulated by Koei!
My opinion! TN just feel like one big money harvesting company that rub their fans of their money
I am sorry, but we get 2 costumes/stages if we buy a total new game, AGAIN, and then we can download and pay for DLC, which is being made while the game is in production! That is just bullshit! Release everything, respect your fans and then create some new DLC that you didn't have time to do before the release ! That fair, not this!

Appearance-wise I'm actually okay with her. Some of you may call it boring but LC was just plain bad design and went way too far (not to mention the horrible clipping issues with those d@mn tree trunk pigtails). This is almost exactly how I envisioned her (except with pirate/rocker attire and two small pigtails instead of one). For those of you upset with her appearance I think the bright pink hair and high pitched voice in her sneak peek trailer should have gave it away that she would be a very anime-like character and that she would look more along the lines of MR and Nyo as opposed to say Helena or Rachel.
Waiting for that trailer and I want to know why she has a tag throw with Raidou (is she possibly a M.I.S.T. robot?) :O

Now that we have Marie and Honoka as teenybopper BFFs, maybe TN can bring back Lei Fang as the genius Tai Chi pheonix she used to be and Hitomi with her DOA3 persona ? Back then we knew what they were fighting for.

What I trully want to know though, is why she fights, why she is a "fighter".
I love MR but we don't know why she's fighter for instance. That goal would define her personality a bit more. It feels like her addition is just the answer to a certain crowd's expectations. I hope it won't be the same for Honoka.

I went to collect the opinion of 5 different persons on the subject MR/honoka, and this was so hilarious i had to put it here :
-Personne 1 (female, DOA very "casual" player) : "They do look like sisters, but the pink haired one look older, and they don't have the same noes." (me : ? what the hell, this is the same noes man haha)
-Personne 2 (female, didn't know of DOA) : "The hell, they both look like fake asian idol, with the same shitty plastic face". I then told her MR's origins and she answered : "LOL that moe plastic bullshit is not asian ? She is 18 ? LOL ! Are you kidding me ?! She just have the exact same fake plastic face than the pink haired crap. Well, can't really help you, all the Japanese idolshit look the same to me". (she killed me XD)
-Personne 3 (female, played DOA with me sometime) : "Oh man, what are you saying ! They don't resemble each other at all ! MR is a kid, and she is a grown girl. If you ask me, i'll say she look a lot more like Kasumi, but she is far from a copy. Well, I'd love to try her !"
-Personne 4 (male, never played DOA but know the universe, including MR) "Well, for a supposed new character, she is not SO new... She clearly look the same than MR, maybe swap face ? IDK, but to me they look quite the same."
-Personne 5 (male, never played DOA, but played NG) "I don't know why people are ranting for. Saying they look the same is absolutely wrong. The two face are pretty different and the pink-haired new girl look good. You have to be blind to not see that those faces model are different, look at the eyes man. Yeah, definitely a useless debate, they have different face."
To make worth-using stats, i'd love to use a +100 000 opinions randomly selected in a representative population, but well... That was hella funny to see how different those answers were. I guess the subject "do they look alike" is pretty subjective...

Maybe we should do another experiment and see how similar Kasumi and Ayane's faces resemble each other by changing their eye and hair colors. You can use the excuse "yeah but they're sisters" but I don't see a whole lot of people complaining about their similar character models.

Been done before and while similar, they definitely have discernible differences. Far less similar than Marie and the Salad.

I honestly think the character's appearance is very well designed. On the one hand, Marie Rose and Honoka are alike in the sense of their rather childish appearance and the size of their facial features. On the other hand, they look like very different characters in the sense that Honoka looks more Asian to me (very subjective but this is my personal opinion). Plus, their clothing don't share the same theme.
Besides, it's way too early to make a judgement. Appearance wise, it could be argued that she looks like Marie Rose but we still don't know about Honoka's personality, background story, relationships, etc. People don't only have to differ on looks, so what I'm saying is that Marie and Honoka may be somewhat similar in appearance but they could be totally different on the inside. Thus far, I am not complaining about the new character. I will make a judgement when the character trailer is revealed and a FINAL judgement when I get to play as her in February.

Honestly, if Honoka had a different hairstyle or shorter hair - with the same side ponytail though - we wouldn't have this debate.
