Well, now. This is an interesting development.

If you have DOA5U, you can just buy the new characters and outfits and call it a day.

But, yeah, the new stages/hairstyles being next gen only is unexpected. But, I guess it'll give people on the fence the push they need to go next gen.

And, no new additions to the story mode. Expected/10, but still kind of dumb since the number of characters not in the story are only increasing.

Well, like you said I believe that they need to push the purchase of the next gen version and to justify the difference of price, I'm sad for it but I understand it (anyway I hope that they could become a paid DLC in future even if unlikely). Again this was unexpected even for me.

Well they will get definitely their role in Doa6, I have no doubt for it, but it would have been nice to get a taste of their characterization in advance.

Well, this is just confusing, to say the least.

Oh well, next gen it is.

But the fact that you can carry over save data from the PS3 is a relief.

Well that pretty much confirms no new gameplay mechanics.and this game base is going to be split 6 ways now it seems got DOA5U(360/PS3) DOA5LR(360/PS3), and DOALR(ONE/PS4) so much for easeir matches and Raidou's rip of moveset is likley the new male character...why am I excited for this game again?

So not cross platform gaming for DOA5LR :\. That means we'll be even more segmented player base, right?

"For players who already have Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate (PS3®/Xbox 360), a free update is available which will upgrade the game to Dead or Alive 5 Last Round and allow online play with players who have the retail or digital version of Dead or Alive 5 Last Round. Players can also purchase the Last Round Set which contains new characters and costumes."

It's nice to see the update to LR will be free. But making all the new content sans characters and costumes exclusive for PS4 is pretty disappointing. I understand that it encourages people to get next gen, but not all of us here can afford to upgrade :(
Whatever it is, I'll have to give this more time.

I am actually really disappointed right now. Not just are the last generation versions left out in the rain, the Xbox360 version is even more f*****. :(

Yeah I only have an xbox 360 so when I saw the news I was just frozen in disappointment. And I plan on getting a ps4. And im not getting an xbone just so the dlc in one game can transfer over.

TN will release a free update for the onwers of 5U so to upgrade the game to 5LR (less for the new characters and costumes, these will need of of a Last Round set purchase).

So in the end the division will be between owners of 5LR on X360, PS3, XOne and PS4, like we thought in the beginning (if not even better, because now theoretically no one should keep the Ultimate version).

TN stated how the specs didn't allow it and even other developers are getting the same problems of cross gen compatibility for their games.

The Last Round Set that will contain new characters and costumes is fated to the owners of the old gen consoles, so they will be available on X360 and PS3 purchasing this upgrade.

Has anyone seen this article yet? I may be behind in this too if you all have XD.

http://kotaku.com/you-can-adjust-bounce-in-the-new-dead-or-alive-1649708514

Kotaku says "Aside from the female fighters, the Yawaraka Engine is being used on the male characters to make their muscles look more realistic. The technology itself is still in development and according to Hayashi, "Every day they get 'softer.'" Wonder if that means there is moob bounce, too..."

Moob bounce XD

So if you own DOA5U and are staying on old gen then you don't have to buy LR you just have to buy a set of characters and costumes?
