Design new characters for DOA6

Haha thanks... Yeah I draw guys occassionally but girls tend to be more fun for me

Anyway I gave her a name and stuff. There's a story behind why her hair is turning white, and I got some fun hold ideas but I'll get to all that stuff when I get another chance

She needs shoes and redesigned nice costume badly. She seems broken lol.

I have a question for you guys : would it be too overpowered (or maybe too frustrating) to have a Judo fighter capable of breaking and/or damaging combo throws (such as Lisa's Shooting Star) ? It would require an extremely precise timing though.

Like instead of just evading the second or third throw like most characters, he/she would evade it quicky and instantly push and stun the opponent in the chest with his palms to create a new situation. (damage : 5)

Well, I'm personally of the camp that believes throw breaks favor the defender too much as is. I feel like the defender should have to input the same directional input as the offender in order to break the throw.
If that system were implemented first, then no, I don't believe it would be overpowered.

note: I don't believe that the throw break system disproportionately favors the defender when it comes to Mila and Bayman, where I actually feel the opposite.

I'd like a male character for DOA6. Like Vidyut Jamwal.

tumblr_mxm4aeB9KO1qkq2rlo1_r3_250.gif

- quick and flashy moves/throws inspired by kalaripayattu or monkey kung fu or parkour
- very flexible, gymnastic-esque and impressive stunts
- ability to use the walls, environment and obstacles like no one
- weak holds and strikes like Pai's
- ability to automatically break and damage neutral throws with a good timing (pressing T) like this :

He looks like the real life counterpart of Miguel from Tekken! :D

I honestly think they should make Finnish male character. Not only because i'm Finnish but it would really help DOA becoming more popular in this country. In here we go crazy if other countries even speak about Finland because no one doesn't know us. It's always Sweden, Denmark or Norway but not Finland. If TN would make a good character it would make DOA more interesting to Finnish people. It would be first Finnish character ever made in video games and first in fighting game so it's definitely original (even though nationality doesn't pop up in this game).

Of course TN would have to make a good character design for this. Otherwise i'm against it.
I found a Finnish game character.

I don't think we'll see a Finnish character before a moment. In TN's head (and Japan), Sweden represents the Scandinavian diversity. Which is stupid because they are different countries, just like Spain and Germany.
It's like Russia, which for most people already represents Eastern Europe, so it's not likely to see a Polish fighter.

The most likely candidates (because they have a gamer community and for the sake of racial diversity) are :
- South America : A latino character would be nice in DOA! TN will probably decides between Brasil or Mexican
- Australia : Very often negleted, but they have an important market (1/20 of the US's revenues in gaming)
- Africa : Biggest video game markets are in South Africa and Nigeria, Maghreb a bit too
- Saudi Arabia : Video games is apparently growing there
- Indonesia/India : Often neglected, interesting martial arts culture
- South Korea : 4th gaming market in the world, they have an important (computer) online gaming, pro-gamers community

Mila (Spain), Marie-Rose (Sweden) and Rig (Canada) were cool additions in that sense.

Big 6 are in red.

Asia/Pacific :
1. Japan
2. China

3. Korea
4. Australia
5. Taiwan
6. Indonesia
7. India

Europe :
1. Germany
2. UK

3. France
4. Italy
5. Russia
6. Netherlands
7. Sweden
8. Switzerland

America :
1. US
2. Canada
3. Brasil
4. Mexico
5. Argentina

Others :
1. Turkey
2. Nigeria
3. Saudi Arabia
4. New Zealand
5. Egypt
6. South Africa

Very interesting and true observation @KwonJigglypuff. A Swedisch fighter is already a pretty outlandish choice, you don't normally see in Japanese games, anime or manga. Normally it's always these countries, that are referenced in Japanese games/anime/manga:
USA, UK, Germany, France, China and South Korea. Yes, there are also references to other countries (maybe Russia, Italy...), but fairly seldom.

I didn't design these characters for DOA but for myself and for fun...

15258852288_d6a7e89253_o.jpg

These are characters for an imaginary, anime inspired high school fighting game. Maybe one or the other of these could fit into DOA too? :D Though some of the fighting styles would be duplicates...
I dont like any of them. they're really unoriginal. the guy in the middle obviously has Jin's pants. Those characters has pretty much the same nose and face shape.
The costumes are super genetic, seen in fighters all the time.

I would like to see something unique. Like Claudio from Tekken 7. He is really unique.

The idea of a blind male Aikido practitioner is somewhat interesting. I think the guy in the middle could have been better off as a Brazilian Jiujitsu practitioner.

I wanted to make him Brazilian, using Capoeira, but then that seemed too obvious...

That's a pretty nice cast, they look like real fighters in real fighting outfits. They could have something more unique in the design of their costumes though, more fantasy. I like them all. I like that Kwon guy.

I somehow wanted to make them look more realistic and less fantasy like. As an example, I didn't want to give Hideki the necklaces at first, because they would interfere during fighting...but then I thought, they looked cool and gave them to him after all. For the rest of the cast I chose more conventional martial arts uniforms. I might redesign some of them though. Nothing fixed yet. ;) I'm only pretty much contend with Chérie and Kaoru.

I like that Kwon guy.

I wonder why...XD

You could just turn him Hawaiian though.

Problem is, I know next to nothing of (Hawaiian) Jiu Jitsu. :/

I mean like a Hawaiian guy who knows Jiujitsu.

Yes, but I don't know anything about Jiujitsu. About Kenpo Karate I know a little, since I did Karate for a while too. :/
Why do you think he should be Hawaiian? Hideki, as a Kenpo practitioner, was supposed to be Australian by the way.
