News Dead or Alive 5 Last Round Confirmed Gen and Trailer Released

Speaking from the main stage of Summer Jam 8, Team NINJA Creative Director Tom Lee has just confirmed that Dead or Alive 5 Last Round will be hitting all consoles DoA5U has already released on as well Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The same teaser shown earlier today in Japan at the DoA5U Summer Carnival by Hayashi Yosuke was shown on stage (in English this time) and the game will be arriving Spring 2015. It was also confirmed to be the final Dead or Alive 5 installment. Please continue the discussion below!

DEAD OR ALIVE 5 Last Round

  • Crimson returns as a playable stage. The time of day seems exactly the same from DoA2U and there is a lot more going on in the background. Later shots of the stage don't confirm it but the hidden room is likely going to return. Wonder what knocking someone into the TV will do this time around? And maybe that TV in the opening shot is the same one from the hidden room.
  • Way more particle effects on everything from explosions to hitting the energy walls to slamming into the floor on the Lab
  • New visual effect on Critical Burst
  • Call me crazy but there seem to be far more penguins on Ends of the Earth
  • New hairstyles for the girls
  • Anti-aliasing making everything look far more clean
  • New tag intros
  • Costume contest entries showing up in the announcement trailer
  • DangerZone returns but remember that super high bounce is likely after a KO, not just a normal stage mechanic
  • Waiting for a translation for the Core Fighters slide

Mentioned that in there actually. As for the platform, the trailer itself is for the game. Don't want to get into the graphics improvements stuff too much here since it's just an announcement trailer. We'll be seeing real gameplay before too long here from the current gen consoles.

By the way it was really confirmed that the trailer was taken from the old generation? People are saying that this is mentioned on the official site, but personally I can't see where (more of course I don't know Japanese).

Do you have some kind of confirmations about this info?

No confirmation as of yet for screens or the trailer. I'll see about getting something but it's not terribly important just yet.

Man I am WAYYY into the idea of a Senran Kagura collaboration. I just hope it means something for Mila, but it would only be the ninjas I think.

Are you referring to me? I didn't post any speculation as news. The news was the platform announcements and the trailer. The rest is my own analysis of the trailer and I mentioned it before writing anything else. That was also edited in way after I originally posted this.

I'm happy that I'll be able to play it on the new consoles (& Kasumi's original hairstyle, fuck yeah. Momiji's long hair would be dope too). The real question now even though it's still way too early is what will be the major tournament circuit platform.

We have 4 platforms to choose from now, not just 2. The reason why I'm asking is because I'm probably just going to buy it to 2 consoles & work from there. Unless there's the same ordeal for PS3 as it was for the core fighters.

Right now, TOs haven't bought PS4s for anything, but they do have Xbox Ones for KI. Depending on how Guilty Gear Xrd does and if it goes multiplatform we'll probably be looking at Xbox One just from a financial standpoint. I know I'd personally prefer that. Honestly, though, as long as we play on PS4 or Xbox One and show the best looking version on streams, I'm content.

I don't know why, but every time I am getting "tired" at some point they seem to bring something that swoops me back in... I like it! :confused:

Also I keep buying costumes each time at return, I don't know why...
