I honestly think DOA should have customizable costumes in future games. I think selling packs of customizable items would net a huge profit. But, if they do include customizable costumes, they need to do it right. That is to say, the items should be able to make the character look completely different if we wanted to. We'd need different hairstyles, hair colors, accessories, clothing, etc. Everything from head to toe should be customizable. I think Tekken and VF did it well and even though I don't use it, CaS in SC5 was pretty great as well. DOA needs to jump on the bandwagon.

No.

Character creation is just a cosplay machine and I want none of that.

If any customization, just allow us to mix and match pieces from existing costumes to make custom outfits that way.
I didn't say character creation, I said costume customization. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 had a pretty good customization mode, but yeah, cosplay was very common. But I do think it's getting a bit ridiculous that certain costumes are getting extra slots when they're either recolors or costumes without a certain accessory (i.e., Eliot C4 is basically C2 without the jacket and hat).

DOA can have a limited option changer, but when you start swapping stuff with other costumes then the characters start looking retarded. any current fighting games customization is way too much. though iinterestingly ernough color customization may be in the next DOA considering Koie Tecmo is letting Warriors Oroichi do it and thats another series where they milk their fans to death.

But it's not ridiculous to allow players to create 50 independent slots on recolors of nightmarish clown monstrosities for every character?
IIRC, they could do it like VF and have individual items for each character. Like for example, let's take Leifang. Her pig tails can be exclusive to her, along with her normal braided hair, and her DOA1 style hair. Every woman with some sort of ponytail will obviously have the option to have their hair down/straightened. See? It can be done correctly.

Here's an idea.

Rather than wasting slots on palette swaps or minor accessory changes of the same costume....and rather than risk displays with a costume maker ..

Why not just make it so we can manually customize each costume?

For example, Milas c2 defaults as just T-shirt and jeans. But from there we toggle the button up hat and key apron and bandaid?

Though I'm not sure if that could be done from character select.. maybe make left on the dpad bring up a full customization menu for that rather than trying to map to a face button.

Honestly I would still rather be able to mix and match from existing costumes

I would make

Head - blue hoodie from c24
Upper Body - White sports bra from c6
Lower Body - Jeans from c2
Feet - shoes from c2
Hands - black fingerless gloves from c22
Accessories - glasses.
Hair - default as that's all she has.

What would you guys use for your custom outfit?

I would say "you should be able to color the items to avoid clown syndrome" but that just invites cosplay

No changing hair color or skin color or eye color or whatever. Just something to introduce variety that doesn't have to be bought for $3 per character. Of course, that fact alone means the odds are extremely low...

Well to make money I imagine them making you buy pieces for customization desperate from the full selectable outfit.

Just add limited recolor capabilities

- No skin color changes (sorry no albino Zack or black Kasumi for you)
- No eye color changes (sorry no pink eye Bayman for you)
- No forced skin marking changes (no edited rainbow color tattoos, slut makeup, clown mode, etc)
- Very limited hair color changes (sorry no random shit like purple hair Hayate or blue hair Hayabusa, but maybe bring back brunette Tina for starters. Blonde Ayane which exists currently is an acceptable hair color change option for example)
- Limited clothes recolor option (stick with the basic primary colors, can't adjust brightness/saturation/etc, simple recolor remapping which means no unnecessary color layers like (upper body #1, upper body #2, upper body #3, etc).

Won't happen though since recolors help pad out the costume slots quantity.

No. I can still see displays from that.

Hair is fine like...toggling dyes on and off.

The rest though....just have like three pallets swap options for each piece

This is random, but I was thinking about making another set of wallpapers for the game. My current idea is to have each character assigned to a stage so to speak even though it's not official within the game. I'd probably end up stitching some shots from the game together if I couldn't find promo photos large enough. But anyway, does this list look "right"?

Kasumi - Flow
Ayane - The Ends of the Earth
Hayate - Scramble (Wreckage)
Hayabusa - Scramble (Construction)
Bayman - Hot Zone
Christie - Fuel (Bar)
Zack - Zack Island
Leifang - The Tiger Show
Hitomi - The Show
Kokoro - Sakura
Mila - Sweat
Gen Fu - Home (Courtyard)
Rig - Fuel (Low Platform)
Bass - Fuel (High Platform)
Tina - Street (Rooftop)
Jann Lee - Temple of the Dragon
Eliot - Home (First Floor)
Brad - Home (Second Floor)
Helena - Heliport
La Mariposa - Fighting Entertainment
Alpha-152 - Depth
Ein - Lost World
Leon - Desert Wasteland
Momiji - Sky City Tokyo
Rachel - Aircraft Carrier
Akira - Sanctuary
Pai - Primal
Sarah - Street (Alley)
Jacky - Dead or Alive
Marie Rose - Lorelei
Phase 4 - Lab
Nyotengu - Forest

Isn't Akira in Sakura?

Can't really say since his first appearance was in the trailer in vanilla against Kasumi in Flow, while his story appearance was in Sakura with Kokoro.

I do, they can break out of it at any time and I don't do additional followup a because I don't want em rage quitting lol

Not like I force tech or continue strings on downed opponents

Its literally just "hold spammed mids" lol.

Actually, all that's the opposite of what I would like!
I want a color editor that's as deep as SFxT's (with eye color editing, and different color mapping such as the ability to give Ayane pantyhose on her C2 or something like that).
Plus, what's wrong with blue haired Hayate?

you're like a Bass that refuses to grab or a Helena that refuses to BKO. that tackle is one of Mila's strongest tools and you just let it go to waste smh.

....did you not read my countless posts saying how that tackle is the backbone ofmy entire strategy?

Or how I'm always talking about how I'm using it?
