Community Team NINJA Halloween Costume Contest

Ummm why do we care about what fits a character in a HALLOWEEN costume? If it were supposed to be like a regular costume I would understand, but come on, it's Halloween.
Because Halloween does not mean whore.

You can dress as a vampire hunter without being in s slingshot bikini.

You can be a cop without your ass hanging out.

And character personalities play a part too. For example, the cyber mila outfit is clearly a design for Christie instead. (Doesn't help that their drawing of mila looks like a redheaded Christie.

Like the pumpkin outfit from last year? Theme was random but it still had Mila traits to it (sleeveless, fingerless gloves, etc). It was a slightly punkish conservative outfit. It wasn't just a pumpkin themed bikini.

Hell even I regret the chest wraps being slightly too small but I hope that slight sex factor will get a couple votes.

@Princess Kasumi...

I really hate to say this (and I'm not saying that you are), but going by the way things are in this thread at this time, you're acting like a stream monster. By definition, stream monsters laugh at or insult other people's faults who participate in an event while not participating on their own, and I want to believe you're not that kind of person, as they are toxic to the competitive community in general.

As a friend who believes you're better than this, I encourage you to please be more careful in judging others in the future. Trust me, the "beggars" will naturally expose themselves even without your input.

I find it to be annoying going on this thread and then I see someone who wants people to vote on his costume.

Like seriously, Let people vote on their favorite costume(s).

He joined FSD only to show his skeleton.
Do we want the rest of the people who joined the contest and then going on FSD to make an account to beg for votes?

Imange each person who made a costume started to spam their costumes here (please vote cause' i love you etc.)

The voting is BS because people beg for votes. If you have a big fanbase and has many friends on FB, there is a good chance that you're going to win.

To be honest I think some of the winners from the last contest did this.

That doesn't mean you have to publicly bash someone's art skills!

I'm gonna get fanboys hating me about this, but to be honest with you she actually has a point, Retro didn't start posting in these forums until AFTER he submitted his design and has asked for people to vote for it.

Now, people want to advertise their costume and that's all well and good. But asking people to vote for your costume and asking other people to ask for people to vote your costume is going about it the wrong way, you're essentially telling people not to vote for a costume they personally like themselves and vote for yours instead because you asked nicely.

I really don't condone this and I'm pretty sure this can be classed as a form of cheating because your persuading people to give you more votes so you can win rather than just letting people vote legitimately and then taking your lose or success as it happens.

To be honest, seeing all this and seeing that people are actually submitting several designs through fake or alternate accounts honestly turned me off from even entering this contest, I honestly didn't see the point because people would beg and plea for votes on their costume and then they'd vote for their friends costume instead of what they wanted to vote for which could have been Ein (although I doubt it haha).

It's unfair to everyone else who may stand a chance and I honestly don't think I'll take part in any future contests like this because the EXACT same thing would happen again.

These are my thoughts on the matter, agree with me or disagree with me as you will.

Oh, come on, you are attacking one person after the other in here. You know, what I think? I think, you are just jealous, you are incapable of designing/drawing/imagining a decent costume. That's why you come here, get pissed off every time and start to attack participants of this contest.

You over estimate what part popularity plays in this.

At the end of last contest I got like 200+ votes for my Bayman entry of those only about 5 were friends/family.

With me and my friends limited skills we were able to convince over 200 people to vote for us. Is it really that strange to think that someone with twice our skill can't do twice three or four times that?

Even if you say "vote for me" how many are really going to do that? remember people are lazy.

What did I say about risque costumes??? I was just asking about the x doesnt fit y statements.

I dunno I just don't picture people dressing up as monsters, heroes, etc., to be themselves.

that's different lol.

But also think about the characters mentality. I don't see Mila ever dressing up as a princess or anything stereotypically girly, nor Leon something that isn't manly as hell.

There are nine people I actually hate, but you aren't one of them.

I realize it looks bad, but I joined because I was getting tired of everyone on DOAWORLD being rude and disrespectful to everyone. I was told of FSD by Commander Wiggles, so I thought I would join, I actually saw this post and first asked for critiques. I honestly only reposted it because I had entered my design a long time ago and thought I might as well remind people of my work, which actually took me a long time to do. This was my first ever attempt as using a digital media for my art. I promise you, I did not get on here to win votes and I know many people here have already allocated their votes to designs they like better or to other loyalties. I'm not going to lie and say I don't want people to vote for it, but I will be honest and say my post was harmless. I have seen others on here commended for posting their designs over and over and over, but I am being attacked now.

I would also like to note that I have been a very active member of this community since I started, I have even tried helping people with their designs. Both in terms of brainstorming and critiques. I have no bad intentions, my loyalties are to the DOA community. I have been playing DOA since it's debut on Xbox when I was in middle school. I have been addicted since. I play and buy every title made. I am sorry if I came off in a negative light, but I did not join FSD just because of the costume contest.

This post is quite good! very detailed post, hopefully some people can understand this post.

cause it speaks the truth.

By the way I dont care if people hates me. I'm here to speak the truth about the contest also.

Tyaren you very welcome to let your fanboys hate me :) <3 Arigatou~

@Awesmic I just feel like I need to say something to those people who just join here because of the contest to show off their costume and get votes from FSD.
Because it seems like people on this thread is afraid to talk about this.
And I have said enough to make people understand my 2nd post.

offtopic: I didnt know christie's japanese VA is one of the girls from sailormoon! so awesome!

I wasn't attacking you, I'm more over saying why I persoanlly agreed with Princess Kasumi's statement and why it makes people look bad and how it could affect others in said contest.

Also I know it really seems like it but PK herself isn't specifically attacking you either although it looks like it, she's just annoyed of seeing people plea for votes and some people are genuinely doing it to boost for votes. She just has a weird way of saying things since English isn't her first language in any sense, by her own means she's doing the right thing and doesn't afraid of the consequences, so it looks like she's hating and being jealous, she's just sick of the behind the scenes BS as am I.

And I thought I was gonna get slapped around like a red-headed step child for the tension with Axouel.

Not taking sides here, but the fights over the entries is kind of getting out of hand. It's okay to state our opinions on it, but we shouldn't be harsh, nor should we take criticism harshly. I haven't read the whole conversation, but I hate to see two friends of mine fighting.

The competition is fierce. The real challenge is to view how the end result would be for some of the entries. Bad art can be damaging, but not vital if the picture is big enough and the idea get across. However, in that regard the picture quality is indeed vital. Some of the entries clearly ward the original design. I hope TN stick with the e-mail versions for this one, or many entries will get disregarded off as bad because of bad matrix transfer.

Can't wait for tomorrow!

Oh look, a wild moderator has appeared!

I see no problem with posting your submission in this thread to raise awareness for it and let people know it exists and that you made it. And if you want to write a blurb about it, or ask for feedback or whatever, that's all perfectly fine. But I would imagine that constantly re-posting the same thing over-and-over again would just be a bit superfluous. Those who read the thread are going to remember it from last time, and doing it again is probably just going to hurt your chances of receiving a lot of votes, as there are apparently those who are turned off by such behavior, as they've been sharing.

So the solution seems pretty simple. If you guys can't figure it out on your own, I'll help you along the way (*hint* *hint*). If you want big votes, there are probably better, more effective methods. But that's not giving anyone the right to lambast your submission.

The competition for Ayane, Leifang and Marie Rose is insane, not to mention how ridiculously many high quality outfits there are for Tina. Like wtf?
