First of all I love what I saw about Phase-4: I loved her design before, and now I'm in love also with her fighting style
(and just like said by @
Pictured Mind , seem that the majority of the forum users started to like her after to have seen the trailer
)
More the return of classic red/black Alpha outfit is another great news for me!
Finally it's nice to see that - against what I thought - in the end she isn't a mimic character, just because this leave again a (not so big, I know) hope about the inclusion of Raidou sooner or later in the series
(until the case of Donovan thought for being a mimic character like hypothized by @
KwonJigglypuff ).
To me, adding Phase 4 so late in the game's cycle, with so little fanfare and basically without any explanation, is a really weird choice. Shouldn't she be a major plot point for DOA 6, maybe even the new boss or one of the bosses? Very anticlimatctic...at least for me.
Actually I played again the story mode of DoA5 and I was amazed to realize how basically all the info in her profile, in the end are things that the players could already realize playing DoA5: not only her human side, but even the fact that actually she is a prototype sent on the battlefield like definitive test for starting the phase-4 of the Alpha project... Donovan clearly was able to make undertand it in a cutscene that I had forgotten.
I asked this question before about Marie Rose: Are there any known tag interactions with other characters?
Seem just that now there is a concrete hope for it!
Two days ago a fan posted on the DoA FB page his wish to give to Marie Rose as tag partner Lei Fang and Kokoro: yesterday Team Ninja shared that same post:

Like always happen in these cases, if a thing asked by a fan will not be included in the game then the best thing is simple to ignore the request and to not say anything about XD
The fact that TN openly led the focus on Marie Rose and the tag partner matter, is able to give high chances for the presence of special tag intro/outro/throw for her (also if not necessarily with Kokoro and Lei Fang, or at least not both of them).
Apparently, @
Omega SYSP asked Team Ninja if Hayate could get a cool clone too and they replied to him with Ein....
This means
A) Ein is now canonically a clone and will reappear in Dead or Alive 6's story mode
B) they were just trolling and said Ein as a joke
more than likely B, but I can dream and it isn't completely impossible
Remember that Rig for unknown reasons was interested to start again the project Epsilon in the end of DoA5: maybe the only purpose of it was to get data from Hayate, or maybe really MIST could plan to create a clone of Hayate. In that case surely would be a way to make of Ein a canonical character... but I continue to not imagine why this clone should decide to use the Karate and not the Ninjutsu XD
MR is definitely a first-day buy for me but P4 is the latest news and she's being released to select arcades tomorrow. But yeah that was a poor marketing strategy on TN's part. "Yeah let's get ready for the release of MR by revealing a different character! Hype?" XD
The fact is that Phase-4 trailer is thought for the Japanese players of the arcade: theoretically the Western fans shouldn't neither know her existence, just because we shouldn't be interested to know info on a site that use Kanji and talk about an Arcade not released outside the Japan XD
Lol, I have to be the only person not impressed by phase.
Believe it or less, when I saw the trailer of Phase-4 one of the first thing that I thought was just that you wouldn't have been interested to her, just because you clearly stated like you dislike the flashy styles and just for this reason love Mila's gameplay
Any luck on vids for P4 yet?
Actually on DOAW @
Radiance said that was planned a location test for her yesterday, so maybe some stolen video could be posted soon.
Donovans mask could be any random mask of the world. Even the Regent from NG3 wears something similar (Phantom of the Opera, even though it's covering his full face...for obvious reasons
spoiler etc. ), and he certainly isn't a shinobi or related to any of the Ninja Clans in NG and DOA.
Yes, but if you see again that DoA Dimensions' scene, Donovan's is showned to put off his classic white mask... for putting on a black mask! XD The thing doesn't make sense, of course this had to hide a meaning for the players. Considering like his black mask appear to be pretty similar to Genra and how this scene is placed "after credits" (so it's supposed to be pretty important), appear really the most likely hypothesis to think that the narration is hinting to a relationship between Donovan and the Hajinmon clan (or to the shinobi world in general).
Well, in Alpha's defense... she's designed to be an ultimate weapon. Lacking humane feelings so she can reign destruction on everything around her. Which is why Phase-4 is flawed. She's a weapon with humane feelings, I mean... you see her crying in the ending. Forced to destroy things whilst having a conscience. It's kind of sad really....
You're right, I think that the explanation for it is just that what is called "Kasumi Alpha Phase-4" is actually a prototype of the real Phase-4 (that, less future plot twists, should be all the clones similar to the DoA5 boss).
Being just a prototype, maybe MIST didn't care to "complete" her excluding personality and memories; maybe something similar could have happened also with Kasumi Alpha (being an intermediary phase toward Alpha-152, DOATEC didn't care of her childish personality, fated to be deleted in the end with her transformation in the super clone).
EDIT: Don't ask me in what order I quoted the posts over... XD
