Point is I'm not seeing a lot of bright colorful, spikey hair teens wielding giant swords. You forget anime uses inspirations itself that doesn't make it anime. The Monkey King Son Goku has been used to death but he's from Chinese story's not DBZ
That's the only thing that would qualify a character as "anime-inspired" to you?Point is I'm not seeing a lot of bright colorful, spikey hair teens wielding giant swords.
Sarah looks like a drag queen, even in VF. You can't put lipstick on a pig and expect it to be pretty.I like Sarah over her even if she's not the most womanly of appearance.
aren't anime tomboys usually more....stern or serious? I mean.i always get turned on by the tomboys more anyway. the dark skinned girl on Freezing, Maggie in read or die, makoto nanaya in blazblu, Setsuka on needless, the karate goalie In that soccer manga, tatsuki in bleach, fuu and kurotsuchi in naruto, etc.I know that everyone in the game is stereotypical anime, it's just Mila is by the books anime stereotype. She's as dull as dishwater.
Not to mention it's a stereotype more commonly associated with JRPGs, rather than anime...That's the only thing that would qualify a character as "anime-inspired" to you?
Well, with such a narrow perception of anime, no wonder you don't see much of it in DOA, let alone anything else.

No, most of the tomboys are highly energetic and competitive, much like Mila. Fighting is all that defines her and nothing else.aren't anime tomboys usually more....stern or serious? So is basket-weaving.it's an art-form that reaches all age groups and genders.
I'd think 'anime stereotype' would be more properly defined as "a stereotype that is especially common in anime as a medium," as opposed to "a stereotype that originated from an anime series." There are plenty of things that have become very common in Japanese media, but originated from elsewhere. A notable example of this would be the Magical Girl genre, which was essentially born from an American live-action series. If anything, most anime characters are based on stereotypes, not the other way around. Specially when we consider that contrary to popular belief, anime isn't just about hentai and super-heroes, it's an art-form that reaches all age groups and genders.
Lisa, lucjadore guide scientist villain hero whatthefuck. Leon is Jean Reneou (sp?), in The Professional.Bass-hulk hogan
Jan Lee-Bruce Lee
Bayman-marine
Lisa-luchador
Tina-diva
Leon-Leon the assassin
Kokoro-geisha
Rachel -Amazon, zena,stripper
Mila-punk/tomboy
Tengu-folklore
Genra- samurai
Zack-Dennis rodman
Or, we could make a character not based purely on a stereotype. It might be fun!

I'd rather have a psycho like vice, and we already had a soldier girl with Nicole, who I wish they'd bring back. fortune teller is a little too specific. unless they put a spin on it, like ouiji, or voodoo or something. still, id rather keep supernatural elements to a minimum.Three stereotypes DOA needs to cover :
- the "freak girl" (Juri, Tira) *
- the "soldier girl" (Vanessa Lewis, Cammy White)
- the "mysterious fortune teller" (Zafina, Rose, Viola)
*as Christie is more "the cold-blooded femme fatale" (Nina Williams, Angel, Crimson Viper)
I guess Marie-Rose could fit in the first category, as we haven't seen her in the Story Mode. I mean, she is described as "the lil' demon", that could work. I hope she has a good personality.
A soldier babe working against Donovan and a mysterious babe to accompany Brad or Leon would be awesome.
I don't know where Irene, Miss Monday or even Miyako would fit.

DOA has yet to introduce a non-teenager combatant. Most (2D) fighters have that young ass fighter for the lulz. XDOr, we could make a character not based purely on a stereotype. It might be fun!
