Wake up escapes

I seem to get struck out a lot, ironically by low sweeps. Like I'll be in the air at the peak of the jump when they do the kick, but then instead of grabbing them or jumping over them, Ryu will get smacked by a low sweep that totally should have missed him.
Unlike a majority of high crushes which are instant crouch, low crushes aren't instant tech jump, not all jumps go over lows, and a lot of times, the recovery frames on a low crush is just the simple Jump state without the Jump (Evade Lows) property.

If I understand what you say, if your timing is not correct an invisible wall appear and you can't either grab or jump over the opponent.

Lisa has a 236p that jumps over lows and when timed rightly it can beat out a mid kick. Her 9k is good against lows and her 7k can beat out mid kicks with right timing. But she can always 7p to backflip away avoiding both kicks.

What about P+K?

Ah that. Its good against lows. I don't think it can beat out mids though. I really don't use it much even though it gives a bound. I usually go with 7p6 so I can use some CAR stance moves to punish there WUK. Most like CAR p+k or CAR h+k

I was being experimented with other characters as well, Hayate for example can beat lows and mids after 7K with H+K, but if you want a useful way to beat WA you can always do 4P+K but it will not work if you are very very close to the opponent.

Gen Fu's H+K launches both low and mid wake up kicks. This leads into his blender or a full damage juggle. The timing is strict in that you have to commit to it as soon as they start getting up off the ground. This means you can't see if they will wake up kick or just get up and block. If they do block, H+K is punishable by 12f throws, so using it in this way is really risky. If you've conditioned an opponent to just get up and block, you can do a lot of stuff like 214t, 236t, 44p, etc to open them up again on wake up.

R1F Izuna hold, no problem~

EDIT: Doesn't have that, "THAT DON'T WORK HERE, BRAH," aspect to it though, 'cause it's not on a wakeup kick. It's also 'cause I've been playing Leifang and they just sit there for like 5 seconds taking hits while I giggle.

Tina can use :4::6::T: to whiff and punish mid wake up kicks. :6::h:+:K: beats lows. I know there are more, have to document them!

my 2cts just to let people contribute with better answers:
:kokoro: : :1:P+K: but not to close.
:helena: : BKO :2::2: just for mid but when it works it's flashy.

With Helena works BKO4P+K to crush midwakeups and with a stricter timing BKOP+K to land a counter hit launch.
Against lows 9K

Bass:
6H+K against lows and mids(stricter timing with mid)
H+K against lows
Eliot:
H+K 236K 66p+k vs mids
6H+K, 66p+k vs lows
Hitomi:
236K, 4P+K vs mids
8H+K(Launch), 3H+K vs lows
And i want add to Hayate for lows:
33KK, 9KKK, 214K, 214PP(Launch), 3H+K

I love that topic! :)

:kasumi:Kasumi has her :8::P: that dodges low wake-ups. Sarah also has this as well. Also if timed right Kasumi can use her :9::K: to crush low WU kicks. I have seen :4::P: Crush Mid WU kicks but it's a gamble, I can't really do it myself. Also a lot of the time both you and you opponent will hit one another.

:helena: With Helena I use :3: :3: :P: :4: :P: to avoid low wake up kicks; it's risky, but if timed right it's flashy and usually you can follow up with BKO :T: or :6: :K: to launch into a combo. Or you can use :9: :K: :K: . For mid wake up kicks I'll either use BKO :2: :2: like QJ said or I'll use :P+K: :P: .
